Davan Win at the N.E.C
It was great to see so many of our customers up at the NEC Caravan and Motorhome show last month. The show had been organised for the first time by NCC Events. The show received record levels of attendance, with almost 100,000 visitors, all eager to see new products for the 2012 season. This year the show saw dramatically reduced entrance costs for those visitors who attended, which was great for every one looking for a great day out. Davan were working with some of the best manufacturers in the industry who were displaying virtually their entire award winning ranges and products.
Davan were displaying for the first time the exclusive VW Azure, our very own VW T5 conversion, details of which are available by clicking here. Reaction to this high spec, custom built camper van was overwhelming and delivery dates are already running well into the spring of next year.
Whilst at the show we were delighted to hear the news that we had won one of the industrie's most prestigious awards which is the  Practical Caravans Dealer of the Year Award. Davan had been short listed along with three other dealers for the South of England regional award and came out top. For 75 years we have prided ourselves on our high level of customer service and satisfaction and treat all customers as part of the "Davan family" and winning this award reflects this as well as the hard work and dedication of the whole team here at Davan. New Sprites are Launched
Sprite had at the last minute decided to move forward the launch of the all new range from the February show next year to the October Caravan and Motorhome Show. WOW we were all amazed at this stunning new product, what a caravan. Since its humble beginnings in 1949 when Sam Alper built his very first "functional, practical family caravan" it is certainly fair to say that Sprite has moved forward indescribably. For 2012 the new Sprite features a new aerodynamic body shell with strong bonded roof, weights that can be towed by most smaller family cars and a great new interior. With 7 new models in the Sprite range this is the clear choice for your first family caravan or simply your first new tourer. Exteriors feature one piece aluminium side walls with improved impact resistance, smart new graphics and come with a 10 year body shell integrity warranty for extra peace of mind. Generous width and headroom gives spacious interiors with modern new fabrics and contemporary furniture in 'Mail Acacia' wood grain. Space frame construction roof lockers and seat bases maximise storage and beech-slatted seat tops are sprung assisted for easy access to storage areas below. With well-equipped kitchens and washrooms the Sprite really is in a class of its own. The Swift Group, who now builds the Sprite range, still believes in the basic values of keeping their caravans light-weight, simple and affordable. With this in mind the NEC show saw for the fist time a brand new product range from Sprite simply called the Sprite Lite. With an initial 3 models in the range, these caravans are built to the same standards as the rest of the Sprite brand, but without all of those unnecessary extras. The range consists of a 2 berth end washroom, a 4 berth fixed bed model and a 5 family layout. All models come with the basics including a 3 way fridge, a 2 burner hob and grill, hot and cold water, a cassette toilet and heating. Luxury Light Weight !
Lunar Caravans continued to be strong contenders at the show again proving light-weight luxury is a high priority for most of today's caravanners. Lunar caravan's market share continues to grow due to the very high standards of build and specification. On show  were four brand new models, including the double award-winning Lexon 520, both the award shortlisted Delta FB and Quasar 494 and the Lexon 420. The Clubman / Delta collection was the best-selling range and accounted for nearly 50% of Lunars' sales. The star of the show was once again the single axle Clubman SB with fixed single beds, closely followed by the single axle Clubman SI, with transverse island bed. The Lunar stand was extremely busy every day and it was fantastic to see queues of visitors eager to look at our new caravans. For the new season Lunar have focused on developing their caravans' luxury specification while also innovatively reducing their weight.
With new model lay outs and lower weights than last year almost all of the Delta, Clubman, Lexon and Quasar models are now sold out until February / March 2012, making now the time to place your order for one of these  luxury caravans if you would like to be on the road in time for Easter.
