2011 Beneteau Rendezvous! This year's big bang will be in Brownsville on the gorgeous Key Peninsula. It will be held August 19th-21st ! This is our biggest single brand rendezvous of the year and you can count on a great time!

The new Beneteau Sense 50 with "Dock & GO" Joystick Control Debuts!
Beneteau has just announced their exciting new Sense Series of versatile and comfortable cruising yachts! We got aboard the first new model in the "Sense Series" at the Annapolis Sailboat Show earlier this month and it was spectacular! Created for Easy Living Aboard this innovative new model has a big, bright interior that's only three steps down from a big social cockpit living area. Twin helms and a 'beach' out the back, this is your summer dream machine. The new Sense 50 features two staterooms/two heads plus the best office we've ever seen in a new sailing yacht. Soon to follow at the Paris Boat Show in December will be her smaller sister, the Sense 42 in a Two Stateroom One Head layout of similar proportions. We are VERY EXCITED about this new series.

One of the key features of this new design is the "Dock & GO" Joystick control. The helm mounted joystick makes docking and maneuvering this yacht in close quarters mere child's play! The stick is fun and intuitive allowing you to move the boat forward, backwards, SIDEWAYS or rotate it 360 degrees all with the flick of your wrist! So easy your kids can do it! Meet the Crew - Rick Shane, CPYB, "Service with a Smile"
Rick's lifelong sailing dream began over 35 years ago aboard a 95' schooner in the Hawaiian Islands. It was a three day adventure that would forever change his life. Soon after that, he purchased his first boat, a San Juan 21, which he sailed for the next couple of years exploring the San Juans and Gulf Islands. Since then he has owned a Cal 25 and a Young Sun 35' Cutter that he cruised and lived aboard for 15 years. Some of his sailing adventures have included sailing from Hawaii to Seattle, the West Coast, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Further enhancing his love of sailing, he began a career in yacht sales in 1990. Rick has really enjoyed the business, especially all of the great people he has met throughout the years. For most people buying a boat takes a great deal of research and planning. With his sales and customer service experience and many years living aboard, Rick has the background to coordinate the commissioning and after sales service on your new boat! Sailing this time of year can be great fun but it also sometimes means travelling during times of reduced visibility. With the advent of AIS, the system that shows you where the ships are on your color chartplotter, you can more confidently 'see' the traffic. AIS and Digital Radar combined provide a significant margin of safety in times of challenging weather or darkness. We're delivering almost all of our new boats with this equipment! If you'd like to know more about these amazing new features, give us a call! We're happy to demonstrate them for you. It's also easy to retrofit your current boat with a new plotter for the coming season. Ask us for details!
