Greetings!

This month's article is about stress and I have been living and witnessing stress to the 'nth' degree.  My father has been in the hospital for the last month which has piled extra work onto my plate.  My spiritual journey of undoing has most definitely opened the door to more short term stress  -- seeing my resistance and constriction to negative attributes.  Extra work with house and cabin in preparation of visitors that are soon to arrive, have pushed the stress meter even higher.

!!OUCH - STRESS!!

"Every stress leaves an indelible scar, and the organism pays for its survival after a stressful situation by becoming a little older."
Hans Selye

!!OUCH - STRESS!!

The warnings signals are all around us indicating stress in the system of being human, living in the world today, and this shows up as tiredness, anger and negativity.  The reasons don't have to be listed here of the many varied situations, because we all have a long list of the WHY.  But our degenerative reactions are much more difficult to recognize and consciously deal with.  These accumulations of symptoms and emotions are the fire that keep the "fight and flight: scenario running long and hard, are interrelated and affect all systems that support and keep the body functioning -- till a particular physical problem finally arises.

Ego mind is the culprit that lulls us into believing that we are fine.

Divine Thoughts

Divine Echo-A Story for Thought "A tale is told about the Buddha, Gautama (563-483BC), the Indian prince and spiritual leader whose teachings founded Buddhism. This short story illustrates that every one of us has the choice whether or not to take personal offence from another person's behaviour.

It is said that on an occasion when the Buddha was teaching a group of people, he found himself on the receiving end of a fierce outburst of abuse from a bystander, who was for some reason very angry.

The Buddha listened patiently while the stranger vented his rage, and then the Buddha said to the group and to the stranger, "If someone gives a gift to another person, who then chooses to decline it, tell me, who would then own the gift? The giver, or the person who refuses to accept the gift?"  "The giver," said the group after a little thought. "Any fool can see that," added the angry stranger.

"Then it follows, does it not," said the Buddha, "Whenever a person tries to abuse us, or to unload their anger on us, we can each choose to decline or to accept the abuse; whether to make it ours or not. By our personal response to the abuse from another, we can choose who owns and keeps the bad feelings." "
