Greetings!

GiftI have always liked Chrstmas. Even as a young girl, and no matter how many or how few presents there were for me, I always liked the idea behind Christmas, which is about celebration. This year in true form, I celebrate, that once again my son is home for Christmas. He is 25 years old, lives in Raleigh, NC and I have no idea how long this homecoming ritual will continue. I know that one year it will stop, as he steps more and more into creating his own life and traditions around Christmas. So, while he is here, I of course spoil him and my daughter with all the things I know they love.

The Christmas Season
Christmas Tree
"What I am is something incredibly magnificent. I am life, and life is the only truth. Every animal, every flower, every rock is life, because everything is full of life. All of us are only one living being, and we come from the same place."

Don M. Ruiz

The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year, no matter whether you are religious or not.  Try to remember the underlying message and consciousness from which the Christmas holidays originate - - the Christ (Universal) Consciousness Light coming to the world.   That same light is a part of each us and resides in each of us, no matter how you choose to label it.  To think of Christmas as a practice of our soul's deepest form of light, generosity, can open the door to joy and happiness.

The Starfish

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached, he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.

The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached, the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.

As he came up to the person, he said: "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said: "It sure made a difference to that one!"
