LSF's Quarterly Newsletter
  March 2010
LSF Staff Greetings!

Welcome to VIABILITY, Learning for a Sustainable Future's quarterly newsletter!

Viability provides you with an overview of LSF's programs, and highlights opportunities, resources and funding to help you embed Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into your classrooms.

ESD is an educational process designed to empower all citizens to create a sustainable future - environmentally, socially and economically.

We are now half way through the United Nations Decade of ESD (2005-2014). We hope you'll join us in implementing ESD in Canada. An excellent way is by taking on an action project - and we have funding to help you with that!

Enjoy,
Pamela Schwartzberg

Project FLOW Success Story
The grade 12 students at Scarlett Heights Entrepreneurial Academy found themselves asking numerous questions after watching the documentary entitled Flow: For the Love of Water. They used information from the documentary along with their Scarlett Heightsown research to develop an action plan that was supported and funded by Project FLOW. The project was a three-phase plan that involved a shoreline clean-up and a public awareness campaign. Read the whole story and watch their video!
