I wanted to share with you exciting news from Hotel Indigo Athens, which has received several recent awards and recognitions. Athens is indeed fortunate to have this upscale property on the cutting edge of environmentally sustainable building practices!
"Hotel Indigo in downtown Athens recently garnered some awards and recognition for its building construction and design. The Georgia branch of Associated General Contractors of America Inc. presented the hotel and its concert venue, The Rialto Room, each with a first-place award in the 2010 Build Georgia Awards for best sustainable building practices and best construction practices categories. Each winner was judged on the skill, integrity and responsibility that went into a project. Hotel Indigo also was selected one of five Design Gems by Lodging Hospitality Magazine and as the Debut Project of the Year by Hospitality Design magazine. The hotel was developed by Atlanta-based Rialto Property Partners, LLC, constructed by J.M. Wilkerson, and designed by Surber, Barber, Choate, and Hertlein Architects."
Hotel Indigo Athens is also one of eight finalists for "North America's Leading Green Hotel" in the 2010 World Travel Awards. Voting continues through August 6 at www.worldtravelawards.com. |
