Athens, Georgia (February 25, 2010) --  Reunions continue to grow in popularity as extended families make extra efforts to reconnect by bringing everyone together for annual family reunion weekends.  The current economy has family reunion organizers searching for budget-friendly and convenient locations. As a service to reunion planners, the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will host a free Family Reunion Workshop on Saturday, March 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Country Inn & Suites, located at 236 Old Epps Bridge Road in Athens.

 

The Athens CVB encourages the public to attend this free Family Reunion Workshop to obtain valuable knowledge of Athens resources and  services for a successful and memorable family reunion.

 

Participants will attend educational sessions to learn how to plan a fun family reunion on a budget, including tips and tricks for reserving hotels, selecting venues and planning itineraries. Participants will also learn of complimentary services provided by the Athens CVB. Light refreshments will be provided during the breaks and prize giveaways are also planned.
