Youth Radio Wins Edward R. Murrow Award for Trafficked
Youth Radio recently won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Trafficked: A Youth Radio Investigation, which covered the sex trafficking of minors in Oakland. The Awards are administered by the Radio Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) in recognition of "outstanding achievements in electronic journalism." This is Youth Radio's fourth Edward R. Murrow Award. The organization was last honored in 2010 for its investigative piece produced with NPR's All Things Considered, "In the Kennel: Uncovering a Navy Unit's Culture of Abuse," which helped to spark a top Navy review of how the reported abuses were handled.

The Williamsport Sun Gazette, a local newspaper based in North Central Pennsylvania, published a story on Youth Radio's Field Producer Brett Myers and the organization's recent Peabody Award. "Alumnus of City's High Picks Up Journalism Honor," reported on Brett's career, his experience at Youth Radio and the organization's Peabody Award winning Trafficked, which Brett co-produced.
