Dear Parents and Students,
This week we will be procuring the sparring and ECAS gear! L-1 Green Belt students who do not currently have sparring gear will be
participating in drill sets for sparring. All Adult Green Belt students and above will also be receiving the basics of our Elite Counter Aggression Skill sets. White belt students will be learning their escape skills, Yellow belt students their one steps and Blue belt students their three step sparring sets. We are looking forward to an exciting week of classes together! Sparring gear and ECAS gear will be here by the end of the week. Be sure to see a staff member to ensure that your gear gets ordered by Tuesday!Also in this issue see the new schedule changes which will take place the day after Labor Day! On our website www.tigerrockjaxnc.com you can download a printable schedule. Look at Calendar and scroll to the bottom of the page for the Adobe PDF. Parents and students are reminded to login to itaonline.com and make sure that their membership dues are current, so that they will be able to register for upcoming events. White Belt students and new Tiger Cubs will be pre registered. White Belt students have their memberships paid for the first 60 days. All other students must have their memberships current. Membership in the Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Inc allows you to participate in rank testings, tournaments, and gives you visitation privileges to all Tiger Rock franchised schools in the US and other countries.  |

GEAR ORDERS MUST BE IN BY TUESDAY
   Rebreakable boards, focus targets, and other equipment is available for sale on our website. Sparring gear and ECAS gear must be ordered in the office.
Sparring gear is required for all Junior and Super Junior students at the Green Belt level and above for sport free sparring. Also any Adult students who wish to participate in sport free sparring classes must have Tiger Rock approved sparring gear.
ECAS gear for adults must also be purchased prior to participating in ECAS drills. See ECAS article for information.
We are placing the orders for this gear today and Tuesday. It is important that you see a staff member to get the gear ordered so that we may have it by the end of the week!

KISADO FITNESS FOR ADULTS IS COMING on SEPT 8!!!!
Kisado Fitness utilizes a wide range of uniquely designed exercises that involve the use of resistance bands, hand weights, kettle bells, body weight and punching bags to challenge anyone regardless of fitness level.
Participating in Kisado Fitness is easy! Wear comfortable workout clothing and bring plenty of replacement fluids. A Level 1 equipment package can be acquired at our Academy and consists of bag gloves and resistance bands so that you may fully participate in this physical challenge.
Our proprietary Kisado program blends thousands of years of martial arts intensity and movement with modern sport science to bring you an ultra-high quality fitness experience. Kisado Fitness can improve your cardiovascular health, help you lose weight, get you in shape and help you cope with stress. Kisado Fitness can only be taught at authorized Tiger Rock Martial Arts and Fitness Academies.
The Instructors have been working hard and are ready to deliver! The KIsado fitness classes will begin on Wednesday Sept 8, 2010. For our adults in the workforce, we will provide an early morning class at 6:30am and for those adults who need something a little later in the morning we have a class at 11am. If needed we will also schedule classes in the evening at 8pm.
Kisado Fitness is very affordable and can be purchased in blocks of 12 sessions for an incredible price of only $80 per block. You have up to six months to use the block and the sessions are transferable. Current Tiger Rock Academy members can purchase a block at a 50% savings!

Schedule Changes!!!
These changes will be effective on Sept 7...the day after Labor Day
 In order to provide more opportunities for our students to attend classes, we have expanded the schedule to accomodate four lessons per week. We hope that you will take advantage of this extra class offering. This way, parents or students with busy schedules, can miss a class and still have an opportunity to make it up. Look at the schedule carefully! All classes are NOT at regular times during the week, although we worked hard to make classes at similar times. Elite Counter Aggression Skills for Adults!
 This cycle will bring with it an exciting change for the adult class. Adult Green Belt students and above, will be participating in self defense training in our new Elite Counter Aggression Skills (ECAS) segment.
ECAS drills are designed as dynamic defense tactics using traditional TaeKwonDo techniques and concepts, similar to the one step sparring drill above.
ECAS has three connected components. Every student must learn to integrate and combine quickly every component in split second responses to unpredictable and varied attack options. These components are
Direction
- movement in the proper Direction to best avoid or counter an attack
Avoid/and or Block
- TaeKwonDo techniques for Avoidance and or Blocking the attack
Counter
- responding with an effective Counter attack.
ECAS will be closely instructed with guidance, basic techniques and concepts followed by both regimented and "open" practice. This training will create students who are quick thinkers, resulting in a more reliable skill response for the individual student relative to their age, body type and athletic ability.
In the interest of safety, there will be equipment requirements for ECAS. This gear package is as follows:
ARMS - One piece hand-forearm pads that can be adjusted to protect the part of the arm that is exposed.(NOT sparring punches)
LEGS - One piece shin-instep pads (NOT sparring boots)
TEETH - Mouthpiece
MEN - groin protector

ECAS gear will be available for purchase by submitting an order to our staff in the office.
Sparring gear will also be handled in the same manner for those adults that wish to participate in sparring.
