Kid's Night Out!!!
Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo Academy is holding it's first Kids NIght Out event on Saturday July 24 from 6pm-9pm. This is an opportunity for our children to come to the Academy for an evening of exciting TaekwonDo drills, a movie, pizza, and just plain fun! The cost for the kids night out will be $15 per student and if there is more than one member per family an additional $10 per student.
The proceeds from this fund raising event are to start a seed program which benefits students of our Academy in their TaeKwonDo journeys.
Often we have families who have encountered financial or domestic difficulties that preclude them from affording tournament fees, tuition costs, equipment expenses, etc.
In the spirit of Community, we will be forming a fund raising club which will be totally separate from the operations and fiscal resources of the Academy.
In the future look for more fund raising events directed at the community like car washes, product sales, etc.
Kid's Night Out is just the first step in this effort to provide for our students and families in need.

Equipment Requirements
 Parents and students are reminded that all students will be required to demonstrate contact skills at their next testing. Focus Targets are available for purchase at the Academy to help students practice these techniques. Each student should have a focus target as part of their equipment. Also, Level 3 Green, Blue and Brown Belts will be required to board break at the next testing. All Red and Black Belts will also be required to break for their next rank. Focus targets are great for practicing breaking, but an even better piece of equipment is the rebreakable board. These are also available for purchase. Please see a member of our staff to purchase these essential pieces of gear.

Dear Parents and Students,
This is an important week in Tiger Rock Martial Arts. The World Championships and Black Belt Camps for this year are being held in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Ashton will be attending as a judge and Ms. Rebecca Ashton will be competing in forms and sparring. We will also be participating in the Black Belt Camp program. We wish her luck and a great martial art experience!
Forms training is the training emphasis of the week. Our instructors will be working to help us perfect our forms and will also be striping up the white and yellow belts. The secondary training point for the week is targets and breaking. We will be using focus targets, pads and heavy bags for striking drills and contact skills that are used in breaking. Board breaking clinic is scheduled to be held on Saturday July 31 for all green belt and above students. This week's training will help to enhance the skills necessary for board breaking.
Start planning for our "Kids Night Out" on July 24th. This night out for the children is to benefit the Academy's fund raising efforts. For more information, see the article in this newsletter.
Because the emphasis in the classroom this week will be forms, we ask that all students please practice their sparring flows and combinations at home this week. Parents and students are reminded to login to itaonline.com and make sure that their membership dues are current, so that they will be able to register for upcoming events. White Belt students and new Tiger Cubs will be pre registered. White Belt students have their memberships paid for the first 60 days. All other students must have their memberships current. Membership in the Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Inc allows you to participate in rank testings, tournaments, and gives you visitation privileges to all Tiger Rock franchised schools in the US and other countries.  |
