Carmike Cinema Karate Kid Demonstration - HUGE SUCCESS!!
 The demonstration held at the Carmike Cinema was a big success. The students performed brilliantly! We heard only the most positive comments about how disciplined the students are and how good they looked doing their "moves". The red and black belt sparring was the crowd favorite. Afterwards, the students were treated to the movie. A great time was had by all! |

Equipment Requirements
 Parents and students are reminded that all students will be required to demonstrate contact skills at their next testing. Focus Targets are available for purchase at the Academy to help students practice these techniques. Each student should have a focus target as part of their equipment. Also, Level 3 Green, Blue and Brown Belts will be required to board break at the next testing. All Red and Black Belts will also be required to break for their next rank. Focus targets are great for practicing breaking, but an even better piece of equipment is the rebreakable board. These are also available for purchase. Please see a member of our staff to purchase these essential pieces of gear.

Dear Parents and Students,
We would like to thank all of the students and parents who participated in our demo on Saturday. It was a big success and you represented your Academy very well!
This week we will be concentrating our efforts on sparring. Tiger Rock students do not begin to free spar until they reach the rank of Level 2 Green Belt. However, Level 1 Green Belts begin to learn sparring combinations, and how to make movements in sparring flow. White and Yellow Belts will be working on escape skills and one step sparring practices.
Because the emphasis in the classroom will be sparring, we ask that all students please practice their forms at home this week, including all of your past forms!
Parents and students are reminded to login to itaonline.com and make sure that their membership dues are current, so that they will be able to register for upcoming events. White Belt students and new Tiger Cubs will be pre registered. White Belt students have their memberships paid for the first 60 days. All other students must have their memberships current. Membership in the Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Inc allows you to participate in rank testings, tournaments, and gives you visitation privileges to all Tiger Rock franchised schools in the US and other countries.

SPARRING GEAR HAS ARRIVED
 All of the Level 1 Green Belts that have turned in sparring gear worksheets will be given their gear this week. There has been a backorder placed for all elbow pads. We do have a couple of extra sets at the Academy, so most of you will have them when you get your gear. Green Belt students and above must have the proper safety equipment BEFORE we allow participation in the sparring portion of the classes.

BUDDY DAY!!!
 On Saturday, June 26th, we will be having BUDDY DAY!!Here is an opportunity for you to bring a friend to TaeKwonDo class with you and have them participate for free!!!Just bring your buddy to your regularly scheduled Saturday class. Their parent(s) must be present to sign our liability waiver, and let the fun begin! |
