TIGER ROCK WORLD TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 14-18 2010
The schedule of events for the Tiger Rock World Championships and Black Belt Camp are now posted online at www.itaonline.com or in the Tiger Rock News which is available in the lobby of the Academy. All Registrations for these events are to be completed online using your unique member id and password. If you do not know your member id or password, please see Mr Ashton or a staff member and they will be happy to help you!
Tiger Rock Martial Arts International has made discounted rooms available at the Jackson Marriot for only $99.00 per night! This is a great savings and another benefit of being a Tiger Rock Member!

Dear Parents and Students,
This week's training emphasis is SPARRING. Sparring is an integral part of martial arts training. In Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo, we emphasize controlled sparring with controlled techniques. We will also cover Yellow Belt one step sparring and Blue Belt three step sparring. I would like to cover tournament sparring and also sparring for testing.
A big thank you goes out to the students and their families who participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on Friday and Saturday. It was a huge success and a wonderful time was had by all in support of a very good cause.
Parents and students are reminded to login to itaonline.com and make sure that their membership dues are current, so that they will be able to register for upcoming events. White Belt students and new Tiger Cubs will be pre registered. White Belt students have their memberships paid for the first 60 days. All other students must have their memberships current. Membership in the Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Inc allows you to participate in rank testings, tournaments, and gives you visitation privileges to all Tiger Rock franchised schools in the US and other countries.

Testing for this Cycle - JUNE 4-6
 Testing for your next rank is only weeks away! We are planning on testing students during the first weekend of June 2010. Remember, ALL STUDENTS TESTING FOR THEIR NEXT RANK ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A PRIVATE LESSON PRIOR TO THEIR TEST. Please start making arrangements now with our instructors for your private lesson. Let's work hard to perfect our techniques and make this next testing an event to remember.

TKD Cancer Kickers on the track!
On Friday and Saturday, members of your Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo Academy walked with over 3,000 other persons in support of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Onslow County. Although the event was a long one, we had great support from many of our parents and students. We would like to thank Sandra Phillips, Sheila and Gary Covington, Consuelo Ollar, Mike Pitt, Tina Pitt, Melba Zalenski, Sandra Lauzon and Monica Brady for their "extra" help providing tables, chairs, a tent, and food with drinks (the coffee was a lifesaver on Saturday morning) for our team. Connie Ollar was the walker with the most mileage on her shoes clocking in a fantastic 35 miles by the end of the event. Well done everyone!!! We are so proud of you!!!
