Requirements for Testing
There has been some concern that students who have participated in
class, worked very hard and prepared themselves for testing will not be
allowed to test due to our move to the new dojang and billing concerns
connected with that move. Please be assured that any student who is
eligible for testing, will have the opportunity to test for their next
belt. As always, tuition must be current, class attendance must be
current, instructor recommendation will be required and all students who are testing must have a private lesson with
one of our instructor staff before being allowed to test. Any questions concerning this matter should be referred directly to Mr. Ashton.

Dear Parents and Students, This week we will be getting ready for our upcoming tournament. These preparations consist of sparring flows for our Level 1 Green Belts and also escape skills for our white belts. We will be discussing the three exciting types of sparring that we practice in Tiger Rock, and will do some tournament sparring this week as well! All Green Belts and above will wear their elbow pads and shin guards to class this week BEFORE we begin class.
March is here and we will be leaving the recreation center after this month. Billing agreements are starting to come in and we are excited about our relationship with Members Solutions. I will be bringing the agreements with me to class every day over the next 4 weeks. If you are a military family and are worried about being "stuck" in a legal agreement, we will be able to cancel your agreement at no charge to you! Simply produce a copy of your orders. We will be happy to add leave time with your pcs dates. If you have any concerns please see Mr. Ashton.
After the opening of our new dojang we will be scheduling classes 6 days a week so that all students have the opportunity to attend 2-3 classes per week which will include a class on Saturday! The class times will be a little later than they are now, but should fit into everyone's busy schedule. LOOK FOR THE NEW SCHEDULE IN THIS WEEK'S NEWSLETTER.
Be sure to check this issue for news about our new schedule, upcoming tournament, the move of our school to the Cross Pointe Centre (Old Navy, Shogun, Hallmark), our Relay for Life Team and our Virginia Diner Fundraiser.
WE STILL NEED MEMBERS TO SIGN UP FOR OUR RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM!!! PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO SIGN UP FOR THIS VERY WORTHWHILE COMMUNITY BASED EFFORT!!!
Parents and students are reminded to login to itaonline.com and make sure that their membership dues are current, so that they will be able to register for upcoming events. White Belt students and new Tiger Cubs will be pre registered and their member numbers and passwords will be e mailed to them. White Belt students have their memberships paid for the first 60 days. All other students must have their memberships current. Membership in the ITA allows you to participate in rank testings, tournaments, and gives you visitation privileges to all ITA franchised schools in the US and other countries.

The New Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo Dojang is nearing completion!
The new dojang is coming along nicely! The interior walls are up, the windows are being placed this week and the painting has begun! We have had a new air conditioning unit installed to facilitate the comfort of our students, new Zebra mats and pole pads have been ordered with delivery expected in mid - March, and 30 feet of mirrored wall with a stretching bar is also on the way!
We need ADULT VOLUNTEERS to donate ladders for our finishing project, and to help with painting of the interior spaces. Mrs. Ashton is
heading up the working parties, but we need your help. If you wish to
help us with painting, cleaning or any other of the details in our move,
please contact Mrs. Ashton or Mr. Ashton. More Information will follow!
The tentative opening for the Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo Academy will be in the first week of April, 2010. This move will facilitate the opportunity to provide training in Tiger Rock Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Yoga, and also to open more classes during the week for Tiger Rock TaeKwonDo. We will be expanding our Tiger Cubs program to two classes a week and be better able to implement our dynamic curriculum for our students.
As with any change, we expect to experience "growing pains", such as moving to a billing system, rather than making payments as you have done with the recreation department. We will have more information on our new partnership with Member Solutions. They are ready to provide excellent customer service to our ITA members and you will see how easy it will be to make payments! Just think! There will be no more problems with the recreation department website, forgetting to come in and pay, and having ease of mind, knowing that your customer service needs are being cared for by a top rate company!
