Bishop Zubik Blessing
bishop crosses Over 850 students, parents, alumni and friends of SJHS celebrated mass with Bishop Zubik in our new Walter Dlubak Athletic Center on Friday, October 16, 2009. As part of this mass, Bishop Zubik blessed all rooms and areas in the new centers. After mass a reception was held and all were welcome to tour the new facilities.

Several media outlets were on hand to provide coverage. Please follow this link for coverage from the Valley News Dispatch, which featured the SJHS event on its front page. The Pittsburgh Catholic Newspaper and website is featuring an article on SJHS and the dedication.

SJHS Inspired Song Debuts

Laura Burkett-Marzka, Development Director of SJHS (SJHS Graduate, Class of 1991), wrote the music and lyrics to an original song, "Our Future is Building", which made its public debut as part of the dedication. A team of students from SJHS and Most Blessed Sacarment performed the song following the Bishop's blessing.

A wonderful video tribute to SJHS has been created to accompany this beautiful song marking the dedication of the new centers. Look for a link to this video on the SJHS web site soon. If you can't wait, please contact the school directly to obtain a DVD copy of the video.

Your support is needed
While the completion of the building marks a major milestone for SJHS, there is still more work to be done! The development team has created a wish list of our most pressing needs, which vary from athletic equipment to furnishings to instructional technology. Please feel free to contact Laura Bukett-Marzka at the school for additional information and opportunities to show your support. Laura can be reached at lburkett@salsgiver.com or at 724-226-8043.

May God bless you and Saint Joseph intercede for you always.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Kaniecki MacNeil '89
