Publication Photo Lori Rhodes colorGreetings!

She Did What She Could.

I fell in love with that line last month when I heard Elisa Morgan of MOPS speak in Washington DC. I traveled there with a group of Chicktime women as we headed to our nation's capitol to advocate for women and children globally and locally.

Please visit Elisa's website and watch her youtube video about SDWSC (She Did What She Could). I have included a link just below my signature.

She Did What She Could.... and that is what we are each called to do. No more. No less. Are we supposed to feel guilt? No. Are we supposed to overburden and tax EVERY resource God has given us in our quest to do our part? No. Are we supposed to sit back and figure someone else is doing something about 'it'? Not if we are called to that particular issue (and we will know because our hearts will tug us in that direction!)

So I encourage each of you today to listen to your heart, and move in THAT direction. God will give you the resources you need to do your part. Do what you can... and watch your world become more hopeful, more joyful, and full of amazing people. For you see... when you are doing what you can... you will begin to SEE, to FEEL, to LOVE the women walking alongside you doing what they can.

Go!

Joyfully and with love,

Lori Rhodes

Introducing New Chapter!

Chicktime San Antonio is partnering with St. PJ's Children's Home in the heart of our city! We have fallen in love with this place (founded in 1891), these children (infants-adulthood), the incredible staff and know you will too! To learn more about St. PJs: www.stpjhome.org

We are in the process of building our roster and organizing our kick-off and first Chicktime event. Please check the Chicktime calendar soon for dates and locations and save the date for May 27th!!!

If you would like to receive our exclusive invitations, please contact us today and we will add you to our roster.

Donnette: donnette.tyler@gmail.com
Diane: dgodwin831@sbcglobal.net

Note from your founders (Diane and Donnette)... about why we are starting this new adventure!
We have a strong passion for the mission of Chicktime (Chicktime.com). As volunteers, we have served the broken at New Life Treatment facility through Chicktime for the past several years. For months now, God has been tugging on our hearts to do more, but we haven't (until now!) slowed down enough to listen to HIM. In a way that only God can, we both finally slowed down and heard him tell us the same thing....and so we are boldly answering HIS call to branch out and start another chapter of Chicktime at St. Peter's/St. Joseph's Children's Home (St. PJ's).

We have been part of each other's faith journey for a while now, and want you invite you on that journey with us. For years, we have held each other accountable to learn and serve God. Part of that faith journey has been sharing our past with each other, which included sharing our feelings of rejection, failure, self- doubt, and not being worthy of God's love. It's been amazing to discover God's extraordinary love and grace for us. This discovery has been life changing and although we still have a long way to go on our faith journey, we know who we are in God's eyes.

This relationship with our GOD must be shared with everyone. So, here we go to St. PJ's to share the story of how God changed our lives and hoping these teen-aged girls, who have been broken by abuse, can come to know HIM though our time with them.

Chicktime Austin, Texas

CT Austin SAKS event

Chicktime Austin has kept their hand and hearts busy this April!

RRISD Clothes Closet: Chicktime Austin helped organize, fold and distribute donated clothing for the Clothes Closet.  These clothing items help children directly in need in our local community.

TBCH: We enjoyed spending our Saturday in April with the children at Texas Baptist Children's Home.  It is always a treat and a blessing to be with these wonderful children.  Our theme was spring time this month!  We planted beautiful flowers and painted our pots wonderful colors to compliment.  Everyone was quite the artist!  The chefs hats were put on and the kids put together a chicken casserole to take home to their cottage for dinner.  They were able to have their hands in everything! Measuring, mixing, spraying, stirring.....fun was had by all involved! Plus a dinner was made for each cottage that evening!

Saks Fifth Avenue: Chicktime Austin was blessed to be introduced to Saks 5th Avenue in the Arboretum, Austin, TX.  Saks is very interested in what we were doing and wanted to find a way to support us.  Lunch and a fashion show was just up their alley and certainly would be lots of fun for Chicktime Austin.  We enjoyed make up tips and fashion while having lunch in their beautiful store.  Thanks to Saks for a wonderful afternoon!

Upcoming Dates:

Texas Baptist Children's Home:10-12pm  June 12th, Sept. 11th, Oct. 9th, Dec. 4th

 At Home Service Projects:10-12pm  May 8th, July 10th, August 6th, Nov. 13th

Please contact chicktimeaustin@gmail.com for further details and sign up to volunteer your time in a place that fits you!

As Chicktime Austin looks towards the future we are so excited with all the new and fantastic opportunities that are heading our way! We look forward to sharing this journey with you and sharing the joy it will bring us all!

:
The leadership of Chicktime New Life visited St. Judes Ranch for Children in Smithson Vally this past month and it is on our heart to design programs and bring Chicktime to St. Judes! We are praying for a leader to emerge. These children are not in treatment and have many more freedoms than the New Life girls have. They are also hungry for spiritual care which is currently not a huge part of the St. Judes experience. If you would like to learn more, contact Jennifer Clarke at todjen@gvtc.com

Our leader for the month was Kim Korfe.  She introduced us to Asian Cuisine and we were all able to make some of the foods.  She made white sticky rice, an Asian noodle dish, fried rice, eggrolls and spring rolls.

We had over 10 ladies participate for this Chicktime and our numbers are steadily growing.  We continue to feel blessed with this ministry and the impact it is having on not only the girls, but the volunteers as well.

Happy Spring to all of you!

Denise, Natlee, and Tamara

Chicktime Smalltown

What is Chicktime all about?  Chicktime is about encouraging women to develop their passions and use their gifts to make the world a better place.

That is exactly what's been happening with Chicktime Smalltown.  This month the boys and girls of Big Springs have been getting ready for prom.  Smalltown has been so blessed to have one of it's members step forward and really make something special happen at the ranch.

Linda Jordan and her daughter April have come forward in a big way.  They've raised funds, shopped for dresses with the girls and tuxedos with the boys, and found a florist who donated all the corsages and boutonnières .  On top of that they are going to Big Springs the day of prom to cut and style everyone's hair, help with makeup and then stay for the finishing touches.

Linda and April have also taken it upon themselves to set up the Big Springs Beauty Shop at the ranch.  The ranch already had a cosmetology sink, but no chair or supplies.  Linda donated the shampooing chair and is now looking for some items to fill the shop.

Now that's Chicktime in action!!  If you want to get involved in Chicktime Smalltown email dixieradicke@sbcglobal.net

Thanks to all our Chicks for all they do...

Asking the question of Why Chicktime? Call or email Lori and lets girl talk!!!

Food for thought: Have you ever wanted to deepen your relationships with the women in your life... with your daughters, your mothers, your sister, your friends... bring them to Chicktime and watch the walls come down... that is how the Holy Spirit works... walk in service to Him... and all your heart's desire will become yours. We can't explain it... we just know it to be true! And talk about new friendships... these are the real kind based on purpose and love.

What is Chicktime National
Chicktime logo with stripe

Chicktime, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) public charity. With the new Chicktime groups forming, it is important for all members to realize there is a 'parent' organization that each Chick belongs to as well as her local Chicktime Group! We have decided to refer to Chicktime, Inc, the umbrella for our non-profit status as Chicktime National. Chicktime Inc. is our official name... but that is oh so boring!

This is important because in addition to the individual Chicktime group events, Chicktime National will also hold quarterly events as a way to introduce the idea of Chicktime to new friends and to provide opportunities for ALL the Chicks to come together.

Our conversations at the national events always seem to boil down to a common theme... the intrigue that so many women in one room share a common vision! Chicktime National offers a mission or leadership trip each spring, a summer retreat just for fun, as well as our national conventionuld in the fall.

What is Chicktime

Chicktime is a grass roots movement meant to support and encourage women living on the wild side, pursuing their passions with gusto. It is our belief that if each woman on the planet right now takes her place we can together accomplish the phenomenal.
