Publication Photo Lori Rhodes colorGreetings!

Spring is a happy crazy time of year... I pray each of you takes the time to enjoy the wildflowers and simply rest in the beauty of the natural world. It is truly a gift and one that we must receive.

My challenge to each of you is to FIND rest. There is much to accomplish and we must be about His busineess... but we also must be WHOLE... and to truly be whole we must lose that feeling of being over burdened. That may mean saying 'no' to good things so that you have more time for the BEST things!!!

Chicktime has lots of BEST things to get into this spring! We now have 13 chapters serving 11 children's homes across our great state. We are also laying the foundation for new initiatives and ask that you join us in prayer as we map out how these new initiatives will function. If you would like to know more, please contact me and I will put you to work. We need you!!!

Joyfully and with love,

Lori Rhodes

Letter from Tracy:
Dear Friends (new, old, and friends to be)!

I have something exciting to share with you. My life is moving in new and exciting directions and I want to invite you to join me on this journey.

As an expression of this 'call' to love God's women and children, I have decided to establish a Chicktime Chapter in our local community. My friend Amy is co-founding this group with me.

Chicktime Palestine was born out of love. The best kind of love, and the kind we, the gals of Chicktime, want every girl (no matter her age) to feel!

Before I came to know this extraordinary love, most days I can remember were filled with self doubt....'will I say something stupid, will anyone like me, will I be left by someone I love'. I was filled with anxiety and worry, I would have rather not been involved than take a chance at rejection. The enemy was winning!   Recently I started to read God's Word everyday....I have learned that these thoughts were holding me captive from the very relationship I so craved....one that would never leave or forsake me....a relationship with my Lord and Savior.

Chicktime is about finding our purpose and sharing it with others to make this world a better place.  At this point in my journey I feel like my purpose is to let girls know that there is this wonderful relationship is out there, one born out of unfailing love.  We are all special and wonderful... beautiful and  we ALL  matter to HIm  and we ALL have a gift from God to share with this world.

I love this verse, kinda chopped it up a little, but it has brought me much comfort....
Mark 5:34 & 36  'Daughter your faith has made you well, do not be afraid only believe"

Believe with me even if the world convinces you otherwise. Believe with me even if your schedule seems overloaded already. Believe with me even if you think you have nothing to offer... because you do my sister... and the very people needing God's love WILL experience it through you.

To learn more about Chicktime Palestine, please join us for a 'Girls Night Out' on Thursday, April 22nd. We can't wait to share this adventure with you! Call or email for location and time.

Love,

Tracy

Note from Amy:

My friend Tracy made the decision to establish a Chicktime Chapter and right away I knew I wanted to get involved.I have found as a nurse, I am doing good all the time but something is missing. I need more, something deeper to share with my daughter......to teach her the importance of loving those around her. My daughter's excitement level about Chicktime has inspired me beyond belief, to overcome the fear of stepping out to lead this endeavor.  The best way to sum up the feelings of my heart is to share one of my favorite scriptures.

"If I speak in tongues of men and angels but do not have love, I have become a sounding piece of brass or clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophesying and am acquainted with all the sacred hearts and all the knowledge, and if I have all the faith so as to transplant mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my belongings to feed others, and if I hand over my body, that I may boast, but do not have love, I am not profited at all. Love is long suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

1Corinthians 13:1-7

New Children's Home
:
The leadership of Chicktime New Life visited St. Judes Ranch for Children in Smithson Vally this past month and it is on our heart to design programs and bring Chicktime to St. Judes! We are praying for a leader to emerge. These children are not in treatment and have many more freedoms than the New Life girls have. They are also hungry for spiritual care which is currently not a huge part of the St. Judes experience. If you would like to learn more, contact Jennifer Clarke at todjen@gvtc.com

Chicktime RGV in March was a blast. We had a Great time the kites, they were a Big hit with all the kids at the children's home. Even the older kids came out and participated we all had so much fun. I even felt like a kid again. A group of ladies from Retama Village made  beautiful dolls with matching blankets for each of the children. The children were so Happy to receive such beautiful dolls even the boys were excited about them. The children are begining to recognize and know us by name. Chicktime Smalltown News

So many exciting things are in the works for the ladies of Smalltown.  Women are getting the idea that they have something to offer, somewhere to go with it and others who share their passion.  We are a diverse group looking to make a difference in a hurting world and starting right here where we live.

Our work at Big Springs Ranch for Children is going well.  We love to be with the girls and have known for a while that the boys were hoping for a group to come love on them.  Their prayers have been answered...we have a "Men of Promise" group starting in April.  These fine men love the idea of pouring their life's out on the boys and have plans of great Ultimate Frisbee games, basketball and building relationship that will stand the test of time.

Smalltown and Big Springs are working together to form a Mentors Program.  We will be able to take a child one on one and spend time planting into their young lives love, hope and encouragement.  This is the most awesome opportunity for which we are so grateful.  Our prayer is to truly transform not only their life's, but ours as well.

We have members with passions like, Military's Angels a support group for the military soldier, kind of adopt a soldier, if you will.  Ray of Hope, a support team for disabled people in our community.  New leaders are reaching out to the Smalltown membership to take up action.  Amazing love!!

Well, can you tell we are fired up!  Smalltown is a blessing beyond what we could have thought of on our own and all the glory goes to our Lord and Savior.  He is the one who works His good pleasure in us to this world in pain.  Glory to God from a grateful group of small town women, and thanks to all the other groups of amazing women out there who do what they can!

Dixie, Gaye and Kim

What is Chicktime National
Chicktime logo with stripe

Chicktime, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) public charity. With the new Chicktime groups forming, it is important for all members to realize there is a 'parent' organization that each Chick belongs to as well as her local Chicktime Group! We have decided to refer to Chicktime, Inc, the umbrella for our non-profit status as Chicktime National. Chicktime Inc. is our official name... but that is oh so boring!

This is important because in addition to the individual Chicktime group events, Chicktime National will also hold quarterly events as a way to introduce the idea of Chicktime to new friends and to provide opportunities for ALL the Chicks to come together.

Our conversations at the national events always seem to boil down to a common theme... the intrigue that so many women in one room share a common vision! Chicktime National offers a mission or leadership trip each spring, a summer retreat just for fun, as well as our national conventionuld in the fall.

What is Chicktime

Chicktime is a grass roots movement meant to support and encourage women living on the wild side, pursuing their passions with gusto. It is our belief that if each woman on the planet right now takes her place we can together accomplish the phenomenal.
