In this new year of 2010 we open our hearts to the positive energy of the Holy Spirit of God. We reach out to one another and to all so that love and understanding may heal divisions and compassion restore those in need. And, we give thanks to God for each day of our lives.

Annual Meeting - Jan. 31st

The Church of the Good Shepherd will hold Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 31st immediately after the service. Review the church's budget, elect vestry members and get reports from all the different committees. Vestry will provide an expanded coee hour with some yummy treats. This is an important meeting and your participation is greatly encouraged.
Scouting Sunday - Feb. 7th
 
The Boy Scouts of America are celebrating 100 years of scouting and the Church of the Good Shepherd is celebrating sponsoring Troop 3 for 90 years. is special service will include Boy Scouts of all ages. Patriotic music and prayers will round out the program. After the service, Troop 3 will serve breakfast as a way to say "ank you" to the church. Please invite any friends, family or neighbors who have supported or participated in scouting over the years.
Pancake Supper - Feb. 16th 
 
Join the Church of the Good Shepherd as we come together for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Tuesday, February 16 at 6pm in the undercroft. Friends, fellowship and all you can eat pancakes! Sign-up in the Parish Hall.
 
Kids Fest - Feb. 27th 
 
Another fun filled day of games, art and crafts, snacks and more!  The Sunday School is working together to plan this special FREE event for the kids in Dedham. All they ask is that participants
bring an item to donate to the food pantry or make a donation to the Episcopal Relief Fund for Haiti. We'll be looking for volunteers to help run the activities - so please sign up. Also - let your friends and neighbors know about this popular event - Saturday, 2/27, 11am - 2pm.

It takes time, talent and treasure to keep the Good Shepherd going. Basic operations for the church, as well as salaries for our wonderful people like Scott, Florence and Merritt, are paid for with your donations. A pledge helps us to know what to expect for donations for the year and enables the vestry to build a realistic budget. If you have not yet made your 2010 pledge, please consider doing so today. Just cut out this pledge card and drop it in the collection plate or mail it in - or call 781-326-3052 to have a pledge card mailed to you.
