Recently, there are a lot of business activities happening at the biometric industry. For example, the U.S. federal government has ordered mobile device with RFID card and fingerprint scanner and plan to use the device for several pilot projects at various government and military agencies (click here). The National Population Register of India is collecting biometric data from its citizens and will create the largest biometric database in the world (click here). Apple has acquired fingerprint recognition company AuthenTec. Intel has acquired an Israeli startup biometric company whose technology identifies people by their unique heartbeat electric signature.
Why governments and private companies are so eager to use biometric technology? Unlike other traditional authentication methods, such as cards and passwords, biometric recognition provides a strong link between an individual and his identity. With high recognition accuracy, biometric products became the preferred method to verify individual identity, prevent identity fraud, and enhance security level.

Consumers in Asia are increasingly wine savvy and the demand for wine is growing strongly the past few years. According to Euromonitor International, wine sales in Asia (excluding China) have reached US$62.2 billion or 5.5 billion liters in 2011, up 63% and 56% respectively compared to 5 years ago. From 2012 to 2016, wine sales are projected to grow 9.5% per annum in value and 8.9% in volume. Wine sales in China has reached US$214 billion or 3.9 billion liters in 2011, up 143% and 79% respectively compared to 5 years ago. From 2012 to 2016, sales are projected to grow 15% per annum in value and 11% per annum in volume.
