Biometric security system that supports only 1-factor authentication cannot provide user maximum protection unless the authentication accuracy is very high. If the system supports 2-factor authentication, the overall authentication accuracy could be improved and user shall get a better protection.
Understanding this requirement, AccuFACE was designed such that it supports 1-factor and 2-factor authentication. With build-in card reader or connection to external devices (keypad, card reader), AccuFACE can provide 2-factor authentication.
For 1-factor authentication (facial recognition only), AccuFACE has mechanism to further improve authentication accuracy. This mechanism is "Individual threshold". With Individual Recognition Threshold enabled, AccuFACE allows system administrator to configure user specific recognition passing score (threshold). The higher the score, the more accurate the authentication would be.
Individual Recognition Threshold Applications
At high security installation (e.g. executive office, server room, sensitive area), Individual Recognition Threshold function could be used to set recognition score for users with different security/access privileges.
For employee who is on the "watch list" or is considered at risk, system administrator may adjust the employee recognition score to make it easier or tougher to authenticate. Hence, such employee cannot easily access to certain area at a given date/time or use other people identity.
In some cases, it is required to make authentication easier for the management. With individual recognition threshold, administrator can make authentication easier for the boss at any time or at a given date/time.
