Jewel/Osco stores in Shorewood and Plainfield have been kind to let us stand outside and gather donations.
Look for us while we're outside Jewel on Rt 59 and 135th. We'll be there on June 28th from 9-3 collecting donations!

Fundraiser - Dine Out for the Dogs
On Wednesday June 17th 2009 Buffalo Wild Wings in Plainfield is helping HSP by donating 20% of their food profits for one day. How fantastic is that! Thank you to Buffalo Wild Wings! Dine in the restaurant on June 17th, 2009 and present a voucher when you pay and you'll be helping HSP raise funds for our needy animals!

Saturday July 11th 2009 -- Chili's Restaurant in Plainfield is also participating in Dine out for the Dogs. They're donating 10% of their proceeds (excluding taxes) on July 11th, 2009 to Help Save Pets! Print your own VOUCHER and present it at the Chili's when you're ready to pay your check! Thanks for your support! August 2009 -- Panera Bread is also helping HSP raise funds to save animals. More information to come.

Thousands of businesses will open their doors to employees' pets on this day in celebration of the great companions dogs make. Fostering Animals
CATS: HSP has handfuls of pregnant and nursing mother cats that need foster families and receive calls daily to take in more.
HSP is looking for help. If you have quiet confined place (bathrooms work well) to help these mothers raise their young until they reach 8 weeks of age, please email HSP at hsp1347@aol.com and we'll contact you to fill out temporary care application and get on our list of temporary care providers.
We provide all the necessary medical care, towels and blankets if needed and food if you would like to use our stock - if you can provide the love and care and housing after the litter is born or while the kittens are growing for a minimum of two weeks up to eight weeks in total. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
DOGS: HSP also needs foster families for some of our needy dog friends. If you can help over a week or two or just a weekend, to give one of our animals a sense of what it would be like to live in a home, to socialize them and even provide some training to help these dogs transition into a permanent home in the future, please email HSP at hsp1347@aol.com and inquire on how to become a Temporary Care Provider for a dog. In addition, we always need a "bench" of foster homes for moms with puppies. Typically when we receive a call from a shelter with a mom and puppies that are about to be put down, we don't have the luxury of starting a search for a foster family, we need to answer immediately as to whether we will accept them or not in order to save their lives. Having individuals on the bench that can take these moms and puppies when the need arises allows us to get them out of the pound and to safety. We provide puppy pens, bedding, all medical care and food if you'd like to use our stock. The commitment is until the puppies reach 8 weeks of age. Relief for weekends or vacations is available.
