One word best describes how the last three months have been for our office, WOW! This is by all means a good thing. If seems like we have activities that we are doing the would account for each one of fingers and toes. And then probably more.

Let me first say that without your tremendous support as a chamber member, none of our success as an organization would be possible. Currently, we have quite a bit to that we are doing within the community to showcase the Defiance area. Probably the most important activity is the 2010 Annual Golf Outing being held at Kettenring Country Club on July 12^th. We have again sold out all teams, like previous years. Our goals this year were to have 60 tee sponsors and 24 flag sponsors, which would be 10 more tee sponsors and 6 more flag sponsors from last year. We have met both of those goals! Again, thanks goes out to the Chamber Members. Among other things with the Golf Outing, we have a wide range of prizes in this year's event. From golf bags to gift certificates and a lot of other great items. All we need now is for everyone to pray for low 80's and no rain.

Next event, the Duck Race tickets are in and we are selling them NOW! This event is one that is unique in the sense that we are doing a co-fundraising event with Junior Achievement of Defiance County. Both organization's goals are to sell all 3,000 ducks. Seriously, we need to sell them because they are making a mess and a lot of noise in our conference room! Same as last year, the ducks are being sold for $5/duck or $25/Quack Pack (6 tickets). The date for this event is September 25^th, 2010 @ 2:00pm right before the RibFest. Hurry in to get your ducks!

As I have talked about in previous posts, I am really interested to hear from every chamber member. I would like to know your thoughts about what we are doing, right and wrong. I encourage your feedback because we are what you would like us to be. This organization needs to respond to its members concern and you have my word that we will do everything possible to protect our members interests.

Spring is a wonderful time of year to draw attention to your business or organization and the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce wants to help!  Ribbon cuttings are an excellent way to highlight your business and gain exposure in the community.  They are free to our members and can take place during grand openings or serve as stand alone events!
