Kapone a.k.a. The Heir Of Da Lou
Born March 9th 1984, exactly 13 years to the
day before Biggie Smallz was gunned down in the prime of life, a hip
hop fan was born.
Kapone started out life in Robertson aka
"Ghost-Town" and would travel between there and the Westside of St.
Louis to see his father which sparked his early interest in the genre.
Kapone
grew up on hip hop music riding in the car with his father as a child
listening to the likes of Eric B and Rakim, N.W.A, EPMD, Ice T, Kool
Moe Dee, South Central Cartel, and many more of the early stars of rap.
The love of rap music and the stories of the street engulfed young
Kapone.
At the young age of 5, the child who had since
birth been listening to street tales spun over instrumentals was
hooked. At this young age young Kapone begged his mother to take
him to the local radio station where hip hop legend and current
superstar LL Cool J was doing promotion for his latest album.
Kapone with his supportive mother stood outside waiting for hours
hoping to meet Mr. Cool James himself. The Kangol rocking, dookie rope
sporting LL finally made his way outside of the station to meet the
little guy who was waiting so patiently to meet his hip hop hero. Once
outside LL had Kapone beat box for him and he kicked freestyle to
it. As if that was not enough for little Kapone, LL had another
request for him which was to freestyle with him. Kapone and LL
performed on the street for the crowd that had gathered and made
everybody clap and cheer. After this day there was no turning back for
Kapone. A Lou Devil was born. LL Cool J may have thought all he
gave the young boy was an autograph and a story to tell his little
friends, but he really gave Kapone the feeling of purpose in this
music.
Flash forward to the age of 18. Kapone had been in
and out of half assed rap groups, and crews. He had tried his hand
working with various artists to move forward. His movement started to
finally gain steam when he was doing shows, and passing out flyers.
Kapone then hit a speed bump in life being in the streets doing
what he had to, just to survive.
After a few more setbacks
which will not be spoken about here, Kapone regained a sense of
purpose. A purpose he first thought of when riding in his fathers car,
and then saw as a dream come true when he met the young and at the top
of his game LL Cool J. Ka"Pone went on to open up shows for every
major artist coming into St. Louis, from Young Jeezy on down to all the
national St. Louis artists.
Kapone now has a new single called "Here Comes Trouble" featuring and produced by CHOPS (producer
for Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, The Game, Kanye West, Young Buck, Bun B,
