What's Cookin'
As a friendly reminder all kitchen volunteers are asked to clean up the kitchen after serving a meal. This includes running the dishwasher, wiping all surfaces, sweeping the floor and putting all leftovers away. In addition, please don't leave any covered bowls, trays or pots in the refrigerator, on top of the stove or on the serving island. Be sure the leftovers are placed in Ziploc bags and put in the refrigerator.
Help us keep the shelter looking nice for the next group of volunteers and staff! |

Shout out goes to...

Many thanks to Lori & Steve Zytkowicz, owners/inkeepers of Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast in West Chester, for their generous donation of wonderful breakfast foods for a surprise hot breakfast on a recent Monday! Lori & Steve are hosting their busy summer wedding season and are contributing quiches, breakfast meats, freshly baked goods, and other great food when available after these events. Newcomer's Club presents check to Safe Harbor this week. We are so grateful for their generosity! |

Volunteers Needed
- Volunteers needed Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for the next few months to assist lunch attendees filling out a self-declaration of income form. This form is provided by the State of Pennsylvania and all people who receive food assistance must fill out this one-page form every year. We will begin this process July 1, so volunteers are needed immediately. Please call Tariya at 610-696-9016 if you are able to come in one day a week and help out!
- Volunteers are needed daily to assist with kitchen cleanup after dinner: women's dorm at 5:15 pm and men's dorm at 7:15 pm. Your responsibilities include wiping all surfaces, sweeping the kitchen floor and making sure all dishes are washed and placed back on the dish rack. In addition, your responsibilities would include following the "Dinner Volunteer Responsibility" sheet posted in the kitchen. Can you help us once a week? If so, please call Tariya at 610-696-9016 to get on the schedule.
- We have several volunteer openings for dinner providers. Help us stretch our budget by donating a complete meal for our residents! Please call Tariya at 610-696-9016 if you can help out!
- Seamstress needed to make two sets (one in black and one in white) of dish covers for plates, trays and silverware tray. Please E-mail Tariya for specifics.
- Daytime volunteers needed Tuesdays and Fridays from 12 noon - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer phones, answer doors, accept donations, filing, assist Executive Director and/or Development Director. Please contact Patty at 610-692-6550 if you can help us out.
- Have a talent or an idea for a Resident Activity? We have many openings (most on weekends) for you to share that with our residents. Some suggestions are: Flower arranging, Haircuts, Craft night, Art Appreciation and Exercise class. Please call Patty at 610-692-6550 to discuss your activity.
