 Greetings!
We look forward to a prosperous and successful 2010 as we prepare for the final work on the shelter as well as welcoming many new volunteers to help operate the shelter.  As always, we appreciate your continuous support!
Concert Raises the Roof!
Beru Revue at The Note

Three hundred guests attended Beru Revue's 14th Annual Concert for the Homeless on December 26 at The Note in West Chester.  Fun was had by all and $7,000 was raised to benefit Safe Harbor!

A special shout out goes to Bob Beru McCafferty, lead singer of Beru Revue and Donny Moore of The Note who were instrumental in making this fundraiser a success!

Fiona helps with New Year's Eve Dinner

Gail Wallis & GranddaughterBill and Gail Wallis prepared a special New Year's Eve dinner for our residents and they had the help of their five year old granddaughter Fiona! Fiona helped Gail clean all the shrimp which was graciously donated by Hills Seafood of Exton!
Evening Shelter Volunteer Reminder

Just a reminder that evening volunteers may be asked to to assist the staff during resident conflicts.  This may include dialing 911 in an emergency, performing locker or backpack checks if warranted or assisting during intervention processes.  Please don't hesitate to take immediate action when asked to do so.

Thank you for your continuous support!

Future and Current Volunteer Needs
  • If you are willing and able to volunteer on short notice to help us move the shelter from the temporary location to our renovated building, please e-mail Patty at SafeHarborShelter@comcast.net  We will add you to the volunteer list and call you when we have a move-in date.  We will also need help assembling moving boxes and packing up the shelter.  Most of the office and kitchen move will occur during the weekday.
  • Volunteers still needed daily from 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. to assist the overnight staff with setting up continental breakfast, supervising resident chores and finishing up laundry.  Call Patty at 610-692-6550 if you can help us out!  If you are in need of community service for school or for a service project, please consider this time slot!
