Meet Nicole Strazzara

Nicole was born and raised in Seattle but moved to Phoenix seven years ago as she grew weary of the rain.
She attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Communication. Her spunky, can-do attitude makes the tourism industry the perfect spot as Nicole uses her upbeat attitude to meet any and all challenges that arise.
Nicole became part of the Southwest Conference Planners' family almost a year ago and looks forward to a busy summer of exciting events. Spotting Nicole inside the office isn't difficult, as a constant stash of Satsuma oranges always adorns her desk. When not in the office, Nicole spends her free time with family and friends enjoying a backyard oasis of pool-time and BBQ.
Nicole is an Account Coordinator. You can contact her at 480-609-5313 or nstrazzara@swcp.net |

Greetings from Sunny Arizona!
The last few months our state has been highlighted in the news media for more reasons than just our fantastic weather and beautiful resorts. Immigration reform has been a topic of passion for many. Our stance at SWCP has been to follow the direction and guidance of the United States Travel Association based in Washington, DC.
The U.S. Travel Association called for an end to all Arizona travel boycotts and urged federal action on immigration reform. "Immigration reform is an important and sensitive topic for Arizona and the country at large. This complex issue should be resolved on the merits of various proposals, not by holding an industry and its 300,000 employees hostage to politics," said Roger Dow, CEO of USTA.
We look forward to seeing you in Arizona soon!

Wigwam Resort to Get Makeover
Up to $10 Million to be Invested by End of Year
The former owner of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks, Jerry Colangelo, whose investment group purchased the Wigwam and two Biltmore golf courses for $45 million in a bankruptcy auction late last year, is rennovating the historic resort.
In an interview, Colangelo and other executives for the first time revealed details of a makeover that will begin in July and cost between $5 million to $10 million, depending on final plans and budgets.
It is being led by Jim Smith, a longtime friend of Colangelo's whose Paradise Valley firm has worked on projects at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa, Hermosa Inn, Ritz-Carlton Phoenix and Hotel del Coronado near San Diego. The project will focus on the resort entrance, lobby, restaurants, outdoor space, and pool.
"What you see here represents what we heard," Colangelo said. "This is just a response to the local community and our guests regarding improvements and raising the bar."
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, in time for the Phoenix/Scottsdale peak tourism season. The Wigwam is managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts.
