Meet Meredith Davies
Meredith was born in San Antonio but moved around almost every two years while growing up giving her the chance to live in Canada, Kentucky, Michigan, and various cities in Texas. She moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University, and in May 2008, graduated with a B.S. in Tourism Development and Management. The tourism field was her top choice because she wanted to combine her passions and skills into a career she could love. She says, "Since joining the SWCP team in September of 2009, the experience has been wonderful and I am enjoying my job." She loves interacting with people on a daily basis, whether it is her coworkers, staff, or clients.
Outside of work, Meredith enjoys ballroom dancing, playing softball, running, and watching sports, specifically baseball and NASCAR. She gets the chance to work with teens through coaching and coordinating the local Bible Quiz Team at her church, an activity that she has been involved with since she was in high school. She also enjoys making handstitched baby blankets and spending time with her family and friends. She recently added a new puppy, Samson, to her life who is a joy to come home to every night.
Meredith is a Program Coordinator. You can contact her at 480-609-5321 or mdavies@swcp.net |

Musical Instrument Museum to Open
MIM opens its doors on April 24th

The Musical Instrument Museum, that began construction in February 2008, envisions itself as a gateway for story-telling that unveils secrets, releases emotion, and exposes hidden talents, all evoked by the unique sounds from diverse instruments. In this case, MIM states that, "we invite people from every nation and walk of life to come and share in this common legacy." The museum houses and celebrates music as the universal language throughout history and culture. In other words, it goes without disappointment to know that the entire collection includes instruments from every country in the world, exuding musical expressions in every medium.
Guests can expect to explore the world "from the mountains of South America" and "African savannah" "to the rainforests of Southeast Asia" by journeying through these extraordinary exhibits, galleries, displays, and collections. Films will be previewed and live performances will feature "traditional, contemporary, instrumental, and vocal music from all regions of the world," taking place in an auditorium created for 300 viewers. Visitors will also encounter many opportunities for interactivity, for example, the Experience Room welcomes the touching, playing and hearing of various instruments. MIM boasts advanced technology, audio and acoustics that allow guests to experience first-hand the unfamiliar sounds.

New poolside restaurant at PV Resort
ROQ specializes in french fries
The Intercontinental Montelucia Resort has launched its all-patio Restaurant, ROQ (prounounced "Rock".)
The casual, poolside setting at the foot of Camelback Mountain features simple American fare. Sandwiches, paninis, fish tacos and salads are on the menu. But don't be fooled by its casual setting - they offer a raw seafood bar featuring oysters, jumbo prawn coctails and a seafood tower. If you don't like the surf you can enjoy the turf as they offer two steaks on the menu. But what ROQ is most excited for is their 9 different kinds of french fries. They boast sweet potato fries, New Zealand Chippies, Belgian fries, Spanish fries, and Moroccan fries to name a few.
