As Fall sneaks up on us, vacations come to an end, kids return to school and the business of life settles back into a routine, we are eager and excited at the opportunity to work with you on your upcoming meetings for the remainder of 2009 and into 2010.  We are encouraged by what seems to be an increase in optimism on our economy and the begining of a positive light for the meetings business.  With last week's Senate passing of the Travel Promotions Act, we believe our industry is on the right track.

The road takes us to Chicago September 28-30 for the IT&ME Motivation Show.  Please look for
Kristin Tacey, Kim Gartner & Dan Tavrytzky in the
Arizona Booth(#1134) &  DMC Network Booth(#2440)

We look forward to working with you in Arizona and happy to provide excellent referrals for all your North American and International programs.

We are committed to exceeding your expectations!

Who's Who at SWCP
Meet Jean Northy...

Account Executive

Jean at football game
Jean Northy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended college at Denison University in Ohio.  Soon after, she made the move to Arizona, and has been a proud member of the SWCP team for five years.  She loves her job, both for the creativity it allows, as well as the opportunity to showcase all that Arizona has to offer.

In her spare time, Jean enjoys taking advantage of Arizona's warm and sunny climate, with outdoor activities including hiking and golf.  She also enjoys spending time with family, travelling, and this time of year, football!  She's looking forward to cheering on her two hometown teams this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals.

Jean is an Account Executive handling sales for accounts based in the Northeast market. You can contact her at 480-609-5311 or jnorthy@swcp.net
Frank & Albert's debuts at the Arizona Biltmore
New Restaurant an exciting addition to a legendary resort...

 Arizona Biltmore at night

Inspired by the passion of two famed architects, Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Chase McArthur, FRANK & ALBERT'S features a pure contemporary version of comfortable classics. Using a host of ingredients from local growers, the chefs have infused a healthier element to some very nostalgic dishes. Dinner specialties such as Coca Cola Pork Chop and Organic Apples, a selection of Desert Flats (flatbreads topped with unique combinations of ingredients) share billing with classic comfort food like Ketchup Glazed Meatloaf. Lunch offerings include a variety of soups, salads, pizzas, Desert Flats, Arizona comfort foods and daily blue plate specials.
Former Marriott Mountain Shadows to re-open?
New developer tapped to reinvent an Arizona favorite

Mountain Shadows Golf

The co-owner and operator of the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix has been tapped to help redevelop the shuttered former Marriott's Mountain Shadows and Golf Club in Paradise Valley.
Boston-based Pyramid Advisors owns or operates 49 resort properties throughout the United States, including the Arizona Biltmore and the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.  It has joined the project team of KEPT Holdings, headed by designer Dodd Mitchell, to transform Mountain Shadows into a boutique-style resort and residential project.

The future of the 68-acre resort in Paradise Valley has been in limbo since closing in September 2004.  The formal application process for Town Council approval is expected by this fall.
