Crittenton's Golf, Tennis & Fun Walk Benefit
ROCHESTER, MI - Crittenton Hospital Medical Center is pleased to announce its 32nd annual Golf, Tennis & Fun Walk benefit will take place at Great Oaks Country Club on Monday, June 20. The event is a fundraiser hosted by the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Foundation to benefit Crittenton's Cornerstone Campaign to raise funds for a new patient tower.
"The new patient tower will add much needed space for patient care as well as additional facilities for medical education," said Katy Olsen, Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Foundation President. "Community support at our annual Golf Tennis & Fun Walk Benefit allows us to pursue our mission of enhancing the health status of our community."
Golf packages are $325 with a shotgun start at either 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Tennis and all-inclusive Fun Walk packages are $150. All three packages include access to Great Oaks Country Club's amenities such as the pool, driving range, putting green and clubhouse as well as breakfast, lunch, cocktail reception and dinner. Morning Fun Walk tickets are $45 and include breakfast. Afternoon by the Pool tickets are $30 and include access to the pool and lunch in the clubhouse. Tickets for the cocktail reception and dinner are $90. A portion of all tickets is tax deductible.
The golf benefit will feature prizes for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive. The evening festivities include both silent and live auctions.

Walter P. Chrysler Museum 2011 Lecture/Workshop Series
The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is pleased to announce our complete 2011 Lecture/Workshop Series comprised of six sessions highlighting a wide range of topics for die-hard auto enthusiasts as well as novice car owners. The series kicks off Saturday, April 16 with The Art of the Auction, featuring RM Auctions and Auctions America by RM.

Join Steve Shugg, retired Director of Mopar® Sales and Training and Field Operations, for an entertainingly nostalgic look back at the then cutting-edge training from Master Tech's earliest days via delightfully antiquated original filmstrips. Model Train Clinic 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 $2 per person ages 5 and up with regular Museum admission ($1 for Museum members) Celebrate the season with a stroll through the Museum's Cars, Trees & Traditions exhibition and delight in a variety of trains running through elaborate landscapes on an oval track in Boss Chrysler's Garage every holiday weekend with regular Museum admission, courtesy of the Stoney Creek Model Railroad Club. Kids Bowl Free Gives Away Bowling to Millions of Kids Again This Summer
There may not be a "free lunch" but there is definitely "FREE BOWLING" for kids up to the age of 15. Classic Lanes in Rochester Hills is one of over 750 participating bowling centers from coast to coast offering kids 2 FREE games of bowling everyday from April until Labor Day. It's their way of giving back to the community for their support during the fall and winter months.
Partnering with area schools, churches, businesses and day cares to distribute the information for families to register online for the Kids Bowl Free program in the Rochester area. The economy is improving, but not enough to turn down a program like Kids Bowl Free. Families that register will receive coupons valid for Two Free Bowling Games each day sent to their email address every Sunday morning from April 10 until the conclusion at Labor Day.

70 Years of Jeep® Exhibit Spotlights Rare 1941 Willys MA at Walter P. Chrysler Museum
Auburn Hills, Mich., - April 11, 2011 - An original 1941 Willys MA is the focal point of an anniversary exhibition at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Mich., that celebrates one of the automotive industry's most iconic vehicles. 70 Years of Jeep® runs April 19 - Dec. 30, 2011.
Featuring a changing array of eight production and concept vehicles, 70 Years of Jeep traces the vehicle's evolutionary rise from military reconnaissance use to the transportation of choice in navigating all manner of terrain for millions of adventure-seekers. The special exhibit also features historical images, memorabilia and extensive narrative that chronicles Jeep's embodiment of freedom and pride for seven decades.
The Museum is showcasing Willys MA78621, one of approximately 45 known 1941 models in the world, an estimated 20 of which are restored. Of the 20 restored vehicles, eight are in the U.S. Willys MA78621 is on loan from the private collection of George and Bernadette Hollins of Palos Park, Ill. who have traced the vehicle's origins back to July 5, 1941, the day it was delivered to the U.S. Army from the Willys-Overland plant in Toledo, Ohio. It is believed to be one of four MA shipped to the 15th Infantry for testing in Fort Lewis, Wash.
MA78621 was discovered rusting away in a farmer's field near Fort Lewis in 2001 and was restored the following year.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum will also celebrate Jeep heritage with two additional 70 Years of Jeep events coinciding with the July 15, 1941 date the U.S. Army signed the contract that made Willys-Overland the lead producer of the military reconnaissance vehicle:
· 70 Years of Jeep Cruise Night Wednesday, July 13, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Jeep will take center stage among all makes and models of cruisers on proud display in the Museum's parking lot. · 70 Years of Jeep Heritage Saturday, July 16, 9:30 a.m. - noon. Part of the Museum's 2011 Lecture/Workshop Series, avid Jeep history buff and Chrysler retiree Larry Johnson will explore the vehicle's enduring popularity throughout the decades.
The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is open for self-guided tours 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday. The Museum is closed every Monday, Easter Sunday, July 4, Thanksgiving and Dec. 24, 25 and 31.
Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (62 and older) and $4 for six - 12 year olds. Children five and under are admitted free; group rates are available. Download two-for-one admission coupons at wpchryslermuseum.org.
Located on the Chrysler Group LLC complex in Auburn Hills, at exit 78 (Chrysler Dr.) off I-75, the Museum is available for corporate and private meetings and events and offers a K-12 education program as well as membership and volunteer opportunities. Friends of the Paint Creek Trail to host inaugural Paint Creek Crawl Cycling Event on
May 21, 2011
Rochester, MI - The Friends of the Paint Creek Trail are hosting the 1st Paint Creek Crawl Cycling Event on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 9:00am-1:00pm in celebration of National Trails Day® (NTD) 2011. Encompassing the entire Paint Creek Trail and business districts from Rochester to Lake Orion, participants will collect five unique "stamps" from various locations to be entered in a prize drawing. The Grand Prize is a $500 Gift Card to Rochester Bike Shop!
This event celebrates the area's strong cycling tradition, and is the first organized cycling event on the Paint Creek Trail for NTD. "We've done many different events over the past 13 years. With the emphasis on green living, and fuel conservation, we want to remind everyone that the Paint Creek Trail is the perfect non-motorized transportation corridor to travel in the Rochester and Lake Orion areas," said Trail Manager Kristen Myers. Although touted as a cycling event, walkers, joggers and hikers are also welcome. The 8.9 mile Paint Creek Trail has a southern terminus in downtown Rochester, and a northern terminus in the Village of Lake Orion.
As a fundraiser for the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail, a 501 (c)(3) organization, all proceeds will benefit future enhancements of the Paint Creek Trail. Pre-registration cost is $20, with a $25 cost the day of the event. Registration forms will also be available at the Green Living Festival on May13-15. All registered participants will receive a T-Shirt and continental breakfast. Online registration and printable registration forms are available online at www.paintcreektrail.org and will be available the day of the event starting at 8:00am. The event will begin at 9:00am at the Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road, in Oakland Township, and the ride is approximately 20 miles round trip. Registered participants will receive a special entry card to collect the stamps, with a drawing at 1:00pm. Many other great prizes have been donated by local businesses.
The Paint Creek Crawl is sponsored by Innovative Chiropractic and All About Me Wellness Spa in Rochester Hills, Flagstar Bank, Rochester Bike Shop, Rochester Mills Beer Co, Times Square Deli and Restaurant, and many others. "We've been fortunate to receive strong support from local businesses. We encourage everyone to shop local, and if you can save fuel costs by cycling or walking, everyone wins," said Friends of the Paint Creek Trail President Jim VanDoorn.
The Friends of the Paint Creek Trail is one of several Michigan organizations holding a National Trails Day® event. Ride for a Cause Come and join in the fun! "Ride for a Cause" will take place on June 5, 2011 at the Rochester Hills Fire Department Headquarters. The event will benefit Relay for Life of Greater Rochester (American Cancer Society). Ride begins at Rochester Hills Fire Department, 1111 Horizon Ct, Rochester Hills, 48309. Registration begins at 9:00 AM and the ride begins at approximately 10:00 AM. Participants will ride to various Fire Stations across Oakland and Macomb counties. Dance 'til You Drop
Dance 'til You Drop A Dance Marathon Fundraiser benefitting Paint Creek Center for the Arts Rochester, Mich.- Put on your dancing shoes and trip the light fantastic to support Paint Creek Center for the Arts. Or, if dancing's not your thing, get a front row seat to show your support and catch all the craziness and mayhem up close. Either way, you won't want to miss the 1st annual Dance 'til You Drop event on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 6:00pm-12:00am. Both solo dancers and couples will spend six hours pulling out their best moves to a pair of dueling DJs.
Dancers will collect pledges for six hours of dancing, or they can choose to donate a minimum of $50 to participate and dance as long as they hold out. All pledges must be collected before the event. Non-dancers are invited to attend for $15 (for PCCA members) or $20 (for non-members). Not ready to dance all night? Guests can choose to step in whenever the music moves them for a Dollar-a-Dance.
The competitors will receive a 10-minute break every hour. At the end of the evening, there will be a trophy presentation for the top solo dancer and the crowning of the best couples team of the night. Grilled hot dogs with all the fixings, light appetizers and beverages will be served throughout the event and special door prizes will be raffled during each of the rest periods.

Vintage Base Ball Games come to Rochester Hills Museum
The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will serve as the home field for another season of vintage baseball featuring the Rochester Grangers Vintage Base Ball Club. Matches will be held at the Museum on May 28 at Halbach Field in Rochester, June 4, July 10, and August 28. Matches begin at 1:00 p.m. and guests are encouraged to bring their own chair. Admission is free to the Matches and the Van Hoosen Dairy Barn.
Vintage base ball captures the start of base ball fever in the United States during the Civil War. Matches are played according to the rules of the early 1860s, which means no gloves and exceptional gentlemanly behavior. Matches are nine innings, pitchers throw underhanded, and various terminology harkens back to the early days of this national past time. The Rochester Hills Museum is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, one mile east of Rochester Road off Tienken road and one mile north of downtown Rochester. Michigan Senior Olympics
Michigan Senior Olympics is a non profit organization that promotes healthy lifestyles by organizing state games, sports competitions, plus health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness programs for the over 50 age group.
The second annual Mary Boes Memorial MSO 5k Fun Run/Walk will take place Saturday, May 14 at the Older Persons Commission, located at 650 Letica Drive in Rochester. The event will be held in conjunction with the Green Living Festival, one of the planet's largest green living & wellness events, taking place downtown Rochester on Friday, May 13th thru Sunday, May 15th. Both events are open to the public and all ages are welcome.
Honorary Chair of this year's Michigan Senior Olympics, L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County Executive, will welcome participants and lead the walk. Late registration is at 7 a.m., and the run/walk warm-up hosted by Beaumont begins at 7:45 a.m. Pre-registration is $20 and same day registration is $25.
Beaumont, Goss Chiropractic, Blue Care network, Priority Health and Humana are sponsors for the event and will be on hand to give out information and offer screenings and consultations. Entertainment will be by The Gratitude Steel Band, games, prizes, food, beverages and more.
Please come out and join in the fun while supporting a memorial event for Mary Boes, who was the MSO Office Manager for many years. She loved the athletes and MSO organization. Mary was also a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother & a friend to many.

Spring on the Farm at Rochester Hills Museum
The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will be holding their traditional Spring on the Farm on Saturday, May 21 from 10-4 p.m. Admission is $ 7 per person, ages 2 and up, and $ 5 for Museum members. Activities include The Barnyard Express Farm show at 11, 1, and 2 p.m., Tiny Paws Rescue League and their baby rabbits, programs at the 1848 Stoney Creek Schoolhouse, bee keeping demonstrations, kite making, tours of the Museum buildings, activities in Stoney Creek Stream including fishing and netting, activities in the Children's garden and plants to take home. In addition, demonstrators of knitting, chair making, woodworking, rug hooking, bobbin lace, and quilting will be on hand to share these traditional crafts with all guests. A huge pioneer playground will be set up by the Friends of Dinosaur Hill, and hayrides will be available. The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was home to five generations of the Taylor-Van Hoosen Families. Rochester Area Optimist Club to Host Executive Director of The First Tee of SE Michigan
Lisa Woodcox, Executive Director of The First Tee of Southeast Michigan, will be speaking at the Rochester Area Optimist Club ("RAOC") meeting on Thursday, May 26, at 6:30p at the Rochester Hills Library. Ms. Woodcox will be discussing The First Tee's programs, the benefits to area kids, and the opportunities to get involved - personally and/or financially - to support the organization. The First Tee was created by the World Golf Foundation in 1997. The First Tee's Mission Statement reads: "To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf." This ties in well with the Optimist's focus of "Bringing out the best in kids" and its annual Junior Golf Tournaments. The RAOC's annual qualifier was held on May 1; four First Tee golfers participated in this year's tournament. The First Tee and RAOC have been working together since 2008. Ms. Woodcox grew up in the Rochester area graduating from Adams High School where she was Captain of her golf team. She is a lifetime member of the LPGA, served on The First Tee's initial Chapter Advisory Committee, and has spoken at various regional and national golf conferences.
