Genisys Goes Green
Auburn Hills, MI, December 29, 2010 - Genisys Credit Union continues to search for ways to be eco friendly. One way they have managed to do this is through their printing partnership with The EGT Group, Inc. in Madison Heights, MI.
EGT was awarded their Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification by the SmartWood program of the Rainforest Alliance in 2007. This certification ensures that companies like EGT are adhering to the established set of standards for maintaining the Chain of Custody of FSC certified products. Genisys materials are printed on an FSC certified stock that is 10% PCW recycled and may choose to use the FSC logo on its printed material to inform its members that the paper they are using is manufactured from a well-managed forest in accordance with FSC principles and criteria.
"EGT has always been conscious of how our production impacts the community so our partnership with Genisys, who is focused on the community, is a perfect fit," said Ryan White, EGT Representative. Another way Genisys works with EGT to utilize "green" practices is through EGT's participation in The Michigan Great Printers program. EGT uses computer-to-plate technology to reduce waste and recycles all paper, corrugated waste, plates and chemicals. It also means that the ink Genisys uses for printing is more environmentally friendly due to the low VOC content and vegetable-based oils instead of petroleum based inks.
"Genisys feels it's important to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint," said Jackie Buchanan, Chief Executive Officer. "Being mindful of how we use our resources and minimizing waste today will make a huge difference in the lives of future generations."
EGT is a full service union printer that offers its clients a full range of communication services including: Commercial Press, Digital Press, Fulfillment & Mailing, Advertising Specialties and the Crown Menu Division.

Harbor Springs get-a-way! Winter weeks AND weekends are available!
 - The pines are whispering to you, the faint smell of hard wood pluming from chimneys and yes, that's you....sitting in front of the fireplace after a day of downhill skiing, cross country, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or snowballs! Boyne and Nubs Knob are just up the road, about a 7 minute drive (about 4 - 5 miles) from the condo door!
- Maybe the idea of a good long swim in the indoor pool followed by a, Jacuzzi or a toasty sauna and a movie or book by the fireplace is more appealing!
- Out on the town? Harbor Springs and nearby Petoskey offer an array of excellent restaurants and shopping as well as the new (2009) Odawa Casino in Petoskey.
This is the ideal place to take the entire family, group of friends or just escape by yourself..... or maybe with someone special.
