YOUNG 5 - PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM SET TO OPEN THIS FALL!

Beginning in September, Holy Family Regional School in Rochester will offer a Young 5, Pre-Kindergarten program to students throughout the community.  The program is designed for children who would benefit from an additional year of spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical experiences prior to entering a kindergarten program.  "We are thrilled to expand our family by welcoming children into our Young 5 program.  It offers us another opportunity to share God's love while providing an academic and social environment that nurtures the individual needs of our children," explained Assistant Principal Carla Vandercruyssen.
The program curriculum follows State of Michigan Standards and Benchmarks and is structured to allow children to build a strong academic foundation in the core areas of language arts (reading, writing, speaking, listening), math, science, social studies, and fine arts.  The program will also include experiences that encourage the development of Christian values, life skills, work habits and citizenship.  The Young 5 program will be taught by a fully-certified early childhood teacher.  A teaching assistant will be present in the classroom on a full-time basis.   Registrations for the Young 5 program are currently being accepted for the 2010-2011 school year.  Registration information is available on the school website at www.holyfam.org  or by contacting the Holy Family North Campus office directly at 248.656.1234, 1240 Inglewood, Rochester.
