Meet Your New Teachers
In our last issue we introduced you to Mij Byram (Seedlings, Explore a Story) and Michele Iemolo (Seedlings). Now meet the rest of our outstanding teaching staff.

Jonathan Iris-Wilbanks (Little Sprouts assistant, everyday Seedlings teacher) Jonathan has carried Bev Bos' books around to use with each early childhood program that has been lucky enough to have him. He spent last year teaching in a 4th grade class in Sweden where the public school children go outside rain or shine for a good part of their day. He is happy to have found a place to work where children are respected as individuals and allowed to be children. Jonathan graduated from San Francisco State University and loves to draw, paint, and play the guitar, ukulele and pocket trumpet.

Sandra Bravo (Little Sprouts, Seedlings and Explorers assistant) Sandra was happy and proud to become an American citizen last month. In her home country of Columbia she grew up around her mother's early childhood program, and before coming to this country she ran her own art, theater, music and dance school for many years. She brings her brilliant smile and years of experience to our programs.

Anole Halper (Seedlings, Roots & Shoots) Anole is finishing up her degree program at FAU and is very active in our local community. She hopes to work in the nonprofit world and looks forward to delving into all aspects of Sunflower, including grant writing. Her last internship was working with Guatemalan families. She has spent many months in India working with children and exploring the culture and politics of the country.

Suzanne Snider (Explorers) For many years Suzanne has created and taught interesting arts-based programs for children of all ages. Suzanne is enjoying getting to know our "Explorers" and having fun with the first theme of the year: all things Circus. Last week while exploring clown makeup, Ashton and Ethan painted her face ever-so-gently as a sad mime, telling her how great she looked every step of the way. Suzanne was formerly Executive Director of the Children's Museum of Iredell County in Statesville, NC. She is currently Director of Ford Fine Art in Delray, is bi-lingual, and along with her love of teaching children she also enjoys curating exhibitions of Central American art.
