 |
|
For the 13th year in a row Brent Meyer, Nate Dogggg, and another friend made first chair at Arapahoe Basin. They were featured on Fox 31 as a result of their patience. A-basin opened with an 18 inch base and it looks like its going to be a great season. Congratulations to our snow addicts, and we can't wait to see what Brent has in store for us this season.

| Jet Pack International goes to Hungary |

Go Fast pilot Eric Scott recently attended the Hungaroring race in Hungary. The event consisted of Formula 3 racing, Le Mans racing, Cycling, Speed Skating, and a Moto Trials exhibition. Eric wowed the Hungarians with his flights. The people of Hungary were very supportive of Go Fast, and almost every car racing was sponsored by Go Fast Hungary. It was a great experience for us and Go Fast Hungary, and we hope to see them again very soon.

Pat Smage
From Pat:
The EnduroCross was awesome! Besides a huge crash in practice when someone crashed and his bike launched straight into me, it was fun. I won the TrialsCross class and had the 4th fastest hot lap time on the big bike. I was really surprised to get that because Ive only riden a full size motocross bike a handful of times. Then I transfered right out of my first heat with a 2nd in that.
Going into the main, I was already very tired from all the extra practice and qualifing I had to do, and my clutch was getting really worn out. I ended up 8th after stalling it and tipping over more times then I can count, and barely being able to finish I was so tired. But I am just really happy to have made the main event.
I had my Go Fast! bottle whenever I wasnt riding and got a funny look from the Monster girl when I held it up on the podium and thanked you after the Trials main. I also handed out a lot of it and one security guard said it was '100 times better than Monster.'
I have a weekend off, then a Regional trials in Oklahoma, then the year end banquet at my house the weekend after. I should have plenty of time to train before the last EnduroCross round in Vegas also, should be great.
Thanks,
Pat Smage |

Speed Days UK
160 riders from all over the world whizzed down the new super fast Beachy Head road as Canadian Scott 'Scoot' Smith was crowned the International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) third World Cup Series winner at Eastbourne's Go Fast! Speed Days.
Riders came from across the globe to compete in the second ever UK leg of the IGSA World Cup event this weekend, with competitors travelling from as far as Australia, Brazil and the USA to take part. Thousands of spectators cheered on some of the world's top gravity sportsmen over the three day event, with the youngest competitor aged just seven, and the oldest an admirable 57 years old. With just two races remaining in the 2008 World Cup series, 'Scoot' looks set to take the crown with three wins now under his belt. Great Britain's own Pete Connolly scooped second place in Sunday's Final with his best ever timing on home soil, and Norway's Christopher Sanne took third position on the finishing line. The FREE event also saw a very special competitor race down the recently resurfaced Beachy Head road on Friday, as Blue Peter's newest presenter, Helen Skelton tried her hand at downhill skateboarding. Taking tips on the world's most dangerous gravity sport from former world champion, Michael Strider, the daring presenter successfully skated all the way down the 1.5km course.
Kris Yule, Director of Go Fast! Sports UK said "Go Fast! Speed Days 2008 was a spectacular event and Beachy Head provided a fantastic setting that the riders loved. We can't wait to come back to Eastbourne next year." The thousands of spectators who gathered at the picturesque Beachy Head this weekend also witnessed Formula Gravity achieve an official world record as their VXR Nimbus soapbox reached speeds of 62mph. Eastbourne Borough Council will now be working closely with Go Fast! Sports and the UK Gravity Sports Association (UKGSA) to look to bring the event back for 2009.
