Wash Away Thirst launched by Georgia Car Wash Operators
A group of independent car wash operators in Atlanta, Georgia, have banded together and launched Wash Away Thirst, an innovative fundraiser. It's a one-for-one-for-one campaign. Introducing Stew Martin - Regional Team Coordinator
Despite a background in industrial engineering Stew has spent the last thirty years practicing law in the Portland, Oregon (USA) area. He has served on many non-profit and Bar Association committees. A Rotarian for 18 years, with a particular passion for GSE, WCS, & now, Wasrag! A confirmed workaholic, Stew is now focussing on building, training, and supporting Wasrag Regional Teams throughout the world. The Water Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is launching a global photo competition on the subject of water. Called "Reflections", the competition aims to encourage photographers in the US and around the world to submit stunning, thought-provoking images that illustrate water's life-giving properties and the essential connections between water and human health and development. Join us on October 2nd for a Wasrag and U. of North Carolina hosted session: Making Water Projects Work
Rotarians are invited to a wine and cheese reception focused on Rotary water and sanitation efforts on October 2 from 5.00 -7.00 p.m. at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Learn how to plan and implement a sustainable WASH project from University of North Carolina experts and the Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group. Hear straight talk from a developing country perspective on why some projects fail. Registration is $20. The reception takes place the evening before the start of the Water Conference at UNC.
