WWSIV  a great success

Rotarians from around the world gather in New Orleans

Excellent keynote speakers and informative workshops made this year's Summit a great day of sharing and learning. Presentations will be uploaded onto the Wasrag web site shortly.

P&GRotary Clubs can have donations matched 1:5 for WASH in schools program!

A unique partnership was announced at the Summit, bringing together Africare, Procter & Gamble, H2O for Life and Wasrag. Thirty schools in Malawi and Tanzania will participate in a full WASH program: clean water, improved sanitation facilities and a hygiene education program. The Rotary Club(s) portion for each school is approximately $3400, and this will be matched by $17,000! For more information email the Wasrag program manager Nancy Gilbert.

Academy for Educational Development (AED) reports on program in Uttar Pradesh

During its initial pilot phase, the program worked largely through women's self-help groups and achieved impressive results in increasing first-time use in low-income households. Subsequently, a number of successful partnerships were formed with the private sector and local NGOs, eventually reaching nearly 700,000 households or approximately 4 million people.
