The First Annual Phoestivus!
The goal of Get Your PHX is to show up, en masse, to support those who pioneer new restaurants, stores, bars and event spaces. We want to provide them a boost as they put their sweat, tears and wealth on the line to make life great downtown. Plus, we want to provide a chance for you to meet others like you, who want to get the most out of Phoenix.
Thanks again to Dean Bozzano and Patricia Ellenburg of Ultra Fit Clinic/CrossFit for hosting and sponsoring the November Get Your PHX. We had a wonderful time and filled up their new facilities at 4717 N 7th St. Learn more at Clean-Eating.com. Thanks also to Urban Cookies and Sapna Cafe for their yummy contributions. So, speaking of yummy contributions, we are proud to announce the First Annual Phoestivus Market! If you have not already seen the Facebook invite, or the many posters and post cards around town, you should know that this is the start of a new tradition: an open air holiday market in Phoenix!
I can smell the mulled wine, hear the carolers and see the gifts now. And it is all thanks to our generous co-sponosrs, CenPho.com, CO+HOOTS, Downtown Phoenix Partnership, Grand Avenue Merchant's Association, Local First AZ, Phoenix Community Alliance, Phoenix Public Market and Roosevelt Row. There will be over 20 booths of crafts and fun stuff for the holidays, plus the now-famous food trucks, who will offer special holiday delectables. If you think you might want to participate as a vendor, please click here to learn more. There are still a couple spots left, I'm told. For those of you who are regulars to Get Your PHX, you should know that this event will be on a Wednesday. This is the one exception to the traditional Thursday schedule.December Get Your PHXWednesday, December 15th from 5:30 to 8:30.Phoenix Public Market14 E. This third of an acre lot is located in the secluded Tonka Vista neighborhood. This neighborhood is best known for its large mid-century homes that back up to the Arizona Canal, easy access to Piestewa Peak, with walking access to Granada Park.
Econ 101 Pop Quiz
I've heard all this talk about a double dip recession (which we now know never happened) or this second huge wave of foreclosures (which has also not happened). I've learned not to trust the doomsayers in the press or at the universities.
In fact, the market has been clearing the inventory of new foreclosed homes as quickly as they have been coming on.
Learn more by clicking the title above about what is really happening in the market.
