Why they run ...
Greetings!

Can we make a difference in the fight against the beast?
You bet we can!  Education and awareness programs save lives.

Jack's Fund March awareness events have generated a tremendous response.

This winter and early spring have taken us to Willowbrook, York and Glenbard South High Schools, the Morton Arboretum, and we've had the privilege of spending the day speaking to all health classes at Glenbard East HS.  Our awareness presentation opened their disease unit with a focus on the number one cancer in young adults and the link between tanning beds and melanoma.

Additionally, Jennifer Marston, organized and presented an awareness program to 1,000 middle schoolers and 100 educators at Thomas Jefferson in Louisville, Kentucky.  An awesome, life changing day!

March also moves us closer to spring break ... please remember to pack sunblock for the whole family.  Yes, it can be a pain to apply (and reapply), but it's worth it - be a good role model for your children!

Lastly, please get your skin checked before heading out to the ski slopes or beach fronts. If you live in the Chicago area we invite you to visit our free skin check event at Health Track in Glen Ellyn on Saturday,  March 17, from 9-11 am .

Thank you for your support as we continue to battle the beast.

Parents: Be Good Role Models
FACT:  One blistering sunburn early in childhood increases their chances of developing melanoma later in life.

FACT: Contrary to popular belief no one is born with freckles but may be born with the tendency to develop them.  Sun exposure is what makes freckles develop, both on and beneath the outer layer of skin.  Click here to read more from the AAD "LISTEN to you skin." (Takes a minutes to load document.)
