Mission Statement

SkinCancer.net
Dear Friends:

The start of school, the changing leaf colors and the kickoff of a new football season all signal the beginning of fall.

Add to that list the approaching long training runs for Chicago and New York Marathon athletes and the opening of registration for "This Run's For Jack."   Fall is a busy time of year at Jack's Fund.

As promised, this newsletter contains a few more personal stories from our marathon runners.  As these runners mentally gear up for their 20 mile training run, we ask that you support their efforts.

Bob, a melanoma patient, ran for Jack's Marathon Team in 2009. He recently sent us a note saying, "I have the marathon photo up in my hospital room.  I view the marathon as great comparison to the fight against cancer.  I'm glad I ran on Jack's Team!"  Bob is an inspiration to us all at Jack's Fund.

Also, many of you have contacted us about "This Run's For Jack" registration.  Join us on October 17 at Ackerman Park - Registration is now open!

Enjoy the change of seasons and do not forget your hats or sunscreen while sitting at those local football games.

With hope,
Sharon A. Marston

10.10.10 is the date that over 40 Jack's Team marathoners will take to the streets of Chicago.  Some are running in honor or memory of a loved one, some are melanoma survivors and all have joined the fight against melanoma by raising funds to battle this disease.
