2010 May Skin Screenings at Health Track During Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Jack's Fund sponsored skin screening sessions at Health Track Sports Wellness in Glen Ellyn. Dermatology professionals screened 63 people over the two days and several people were advised to seek follow-up for suspected skin cancer issues.
Jack's Fund appreciates Health Track for its long-standing support of our mission. Special thanks to the dermatology professionals who performed skin checks at these events - Dr. Moira Ariano, Dr. Arthur Gray, and from DuPage Medical Group, Physician's Assistant Bridget Padgett. Thanks also to our volunteers Darlene Reilly and the nurses from the Chicago Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society. Click here to read more about our awareness and education programs.

Congratulations BrianBrian Hyosaka graduated this spring from the University of Illinois. Below is a letter of gratitude from Brian sent to Jack's Fund:
To: Jack's Fund,
Although it seems like just yesterday when the Marston family presented the first annual "Game On" scholarship -- four years have passed and I have successfully completed my degree from the University of Illinois. I would like to express my extreme gratitude to the Marston Family and Jack's Fund. My connection with Jack's Fund has been a blessing and a guiding light in my four year journey through college. Mr. Marston lived life with omnipresent passion and ceaselessly pursued his goals. It is with these characteristics that I attempted to complete my four years of college. Since receiving the scholarship, I was blessed with the opportunity to both study and see the world through my International Studies Degree. The upcoming two years I will be a Teach For America Corps member working in an underserved school in Denver, Colorado. Much like Mr. Marston, I will attempt to live a life that will not only benefit myself, but others around me. Though I will no longer have a direct connection to Jack's Fund, I look forward to continuing to give back to an organization that has given so much to myself and many others. I would like to again thank the Marston Family and Jack's Fund for four years of incredible support. Sincerely,
Brian Hyosaka |
