Rudin Lecture Series E-Myth Revisited
Every year more than a million extremely talented people start small businesses, only to work themselves out of business a short time later--at least 40% within a year and more than 80% within five years!(1) Is it the economy that dooms so many small businesses? Lack of financing? Bad products or services? In his book, The E-Myth Revisited, Michael Gerber points out that the fatal blow often occurs before the first day a business is open and is a direct result of the something he call the Entrepreneurial Seizure.
Join Alan Sartain, President of ReSults, LLC; Bill Brennan, Co-founder of LeadsSource; and Frank Cania, SPHR, CEO of CANIAHR, LLC; as they exlpore what causes the Entrepreneurial Seizure and the resulting Fatal Assumption. Find out how to survive the three phases in the growth of a business and why it is important for a small business owner to have multiple personalities. This workshop can help change your perspective on running a busienss and plant the seeds for your success.

Top 11 HR Mistakes Small Businesses Make and How to Avoid Them Do your employees compare working in your company to a Dilbert cartoon? Have you ever thought they were laughing about last week's episode of The Office when it was your office they were talking about? Every organization makes HR (Human Resources) mistakes from time to time and small businesses are no exception--and every mistake has the potential to be very costly!
With 25+ years of business experience, and over a decade in HR, Frank Cania has been exposed to almost every HR mistake imaginable--and lived to tell about it. There are some mistakes that just won't go away. Classics like, "What do you mean I can't ask that in an interview?" and "I decided to let you go because you're single and Harry has a family to support" to "I pay everyone a salary because it's easier." Join Frank for 11 HR Mistakes Your Mother Never Warned You About!

Low Cost/No Cost Marketing Big corporations spend millions of dollars to launch new products and keep their name in front of potential customers. Self-employed individuals and small businesses have the same need, but not the same budget.
Why are 60% of new businesses gone within 3-5 years? In the vast majority of cases, people have no idea how to market, promote or sell their products or services.
There are many inexpensive ways to make customers aware of your products and services. All it takes to find effective, low-cost marketing opportunities for small businesses is a little ingenuity and a lot of persistence. Bill Brennan, a Fairport small business owner, will present some traditional marketing tools and some guerrilla ideas to get you started.
