Want to learn about cooking tasty, healthy food in the company of kindred
spirits? Join us for Creating Family-Friendly Meals: Greens, Grains & Beans.
This fall, my husband, Kevin Haley (a self-taught chef extraordinaire), and I are offering cooking classes at the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center in
Falmouth.
The series focuses on veggies, whole grains and
legumes. Classes include tips for working with finicky family
members, take-home recipes, and lots of samples.
Our first session (Greens & Veggies) was fun and informative for all involved. We shared versatile veggie chili, sweet watercress and beets and sunflowered squash. The next session will focus on Whole Grains, and will feature kid-pleasing bulgar pilaf, amaranth & oats and colorful rice salad. This will take place on Tuesday, October 21 .
The following session will go "Beyond Basic Beans" on Tuesday, November 18.
Many people have told us they plan to attend the Whole Grains and Beyond Beans sessions. We'd love to have you join us, too. Seating is limited--so call soon.
We hope to see you there!
