Hello , Ah, yes, even the young teen Anne Frank was able to articulate this simple recipe for a more wonderful world - don't wait, just start.
And we have started...the launch of our Get In Touch Youth Ambassador Program offers an opportunity for high school girls all over the world to make a difference by introducing our breast health initiative to their school and schools in their community.
I've always found it somewhat insulting when people refer to our youth as "the future," as if who they are today is somehow not as valuable as who they will be one day.
I celebrate our youth TODAY - and value their voice, their passion, and their commitment to a better world. That's why we've implemented this program for them, no one could be more effective in our mission to "change the world one girl at a time."
Look for more information in this newsletter (below) about self-nominations, which close on September 23, and the Get In Touch Youth Ambassador $10,000 Collegiate Scholarship each GIT Youth Ambassador is eligible to apply for in her senior year of high school.
Be sure and share this with every high school girl you know!

Spotlight on Schools:
School nurses across the US have been busy ordering Daisy Wheels, helping us educate girls in grades 5-12 about the importance of breast health. Recent orders came in from Connecticut, Maine, Arkansas, and even a new (to us) school in Bangkok, Thailand.

WE DID IT!
We're in every state in the US, but not in every county, yet...

Channeling Their Inner Artists
Last month found ten women learning how much fun it is to paint, and support GIT at the same time. This fun, gerbera daisy-filled event raised $412 for GIT.
In a show of continuing support, Roey Ebert (that's her, above with her daughter Vivien), owner of Roey's Paintbox Parties, is proudly displaying our Daisy Wheel© and brochures at her studio by her daisy painting (you can see it in our "8 Wheels" story below). When someone paints one, she'll donate 100% to GIT. We think Roey rocks!

Pittsburgh Looks Pretty In Pink
The University Club saw a lot of pink on August 19! The first annual Pretty In Pink Brunch honored Woman of Strength Debbie Constantino, a NICU nurse from Magee Women's Hospital at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center (that's Debbie in the black and white dress, along with her nursing colleagues).
Survivor Speaker Sandy Weiss (in purple, below), Executive Director at North Way Christian Community, and Healing Team Speaker Ebony Hughes (that's her in the white jacket, below), "Healthy Communities" Program Coordinator at Magee, were inspiring!
And a special thanks goes out to PIP Committee Chair, Alison Knopf, and her dedicated volunteers, Sammi Schreiber, Dana Berman, Erin Estabrook, Erin O'Donnell, and Brooke Gunter, who made the event such a success!

Did we just have lunch with "THE" Frances Hesselbein?!
We spent an afternoon with one of our personal heroines this summer, and were thrilled when The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute featured us in their newsletter last month as their "PROFILE IN INNOVATION."
Frances Hesselbein is the former CEO of the Girls Scouts of the USA, where she established the Daisy Scout Program. (Love that coincidence, don't you?!)
She is the founder of the Leader to Leader Institute, and the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with the Girl Scouts of America.

Our friends at Melt Grill will host their second Little Pink Dress party on October 18. If you're in the Center Valley, PA area, stop by and support GIT while enjoying a wonderful Italian meal with a modern twist.
On Sunday, October 21, New Haven, CT's Lyric Hall Theater and M&M Productions will present "Love, Loss and What I Wore," a play by Nora Ephron and her sister Delia Ephron. Proceeds from ticket sales and a silent auction will benefit GIT. The show starts at 2pm. If it sells out, they'll add a second show at 7pm. Hope you can come support GIT and have a wonderful time in New Haven!
