Hello ,
My breast cancer recurrence last May has given me an even more persistent and urgent sense of purpose in this great, big, glorious world. I am passionate about breast health. My own daughters, after all, were the impetus for the Get In Touch Girls' Program...I knew that because of their family history, it would be important for them to learn to become comfortable and familiar with their bodies - to "get in touch" with their bodies - for life. And quickly - very, very quickly - I realized that all of our daughters - not just the ones that call me "mom" - deserved to have this same important, life-saving information. I knew if I could find a way to provide this information to schools for free, it would be successful - it could change the world - one girl at a time. Schools all over the world order Daisy Wheels, and those that can, make a donation to Get In Touch...so those that can't afford to make a donation can still receive our Daisy Wheels. That's how we roll...girls...women...united in our passion for breast health....united in our passion for each other. Hope Lives!

Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center...
I can't say enough good things about the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Center in Connecticut! Their enthusiastic nurse educators have taken our Daisy Wheels into schools in the Bridgeport and Fairfield communities...and in the coming months, we're going to give you the tools you need to let your local breast cancer center know how they can follow in the footsteps of Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center!
Stay tuned...

Our Social Calendar
We're so excited about all the upcoming events planned for 2012!
Next up: the sold-out Lehigh Valley Pretty In Pink Brunch on Saturday, February 11. May will bring our first GIT NYC Cocktail Party, which is certain to be a hot ticket, and of course there's the event that started it all: Milford's 8th Annual Pretty In Pink Brunch, on Sunday, October 7th. In addition to all of these "biggies," there will be loads of "GIT Your Pink On!" fundraisers and Little Pink Dress parties...and who knows what other kinds of fun will come our way!
It's going to be a great year!

GIT Treasurer Wins Award
Jorge Santiago, our Treasurer, was presented with the Milford Chamber of Commerce's 2012 Human Service Award for his outstanding community work with not only the Get In Touch Foundation, but also the Boys & Girls Club of Milford, the JFK Elementary School PTO, Junior Achievement, Square One Theater and the Stratford Chamber of Commerce.
Several of us cheered Jorge on at the awards luncheon. That's Vice Chair Christina Brandt, yours truly, Operations Coordinator Kristina Cappetta, Jorge, and Board Members Suzanne Cahill-Manning and Rev. Tom Ptaszynski in the photo above. Congratulations, Jorge - we're so proud of you!
