Hello ,

'Tis the season to deck the halls, enjoy cherished time with family, and reflect on the year that is now securely under our expanding belts!

My wish for you this season is that you savor this holiday as if it were your last...let go of the things that mean little, and embrace those that make a difference.

Here are some suggestions...

Take some time to listen...without interrupting; to smile at a stranger...for no reason; to hug a loved one...a little longer than usual; to prepare a meal...with reverence for the earth which gave of this food; to give of yourself...without expecting anything in return.

We've had a remarkable year here at Get In Touch, and we are filled with gratitude for your support.

We look forward to sharing the blessings of 2012!

Hope Lives!

Spotlight on Schools

Yes, we're focusing intently on the three states whose schools still haven't "gotten in touch," but that doesn't mean we're not fond of all the other states here in the good old USA.  We're especially grateful to those schools here in Connecticut, our home base.  Thanks, Nutmeggers, for believing in our mission and supporting us from the very beginning!  Here are just a few of the CT schools that help their students Get In Touch:

Nathan Hale Middle School, Norwalk

East Shore Middle School, Milford

Griswold High School, Griswold

Parkman School, Enfield

Bunnell High School, Stratford

Hebrew High School of New England, West Hartford

Lauralton Hall Physics AP donation 2011
Lauralton Hall's AP Physics Class makes donation...

The girls at Lauralton Hall are such loyal supporters of GIT.  We couldn't be happier about their latest show of support - a donation from their AP Physics Class and their "Artificial Punter Project!"  That's me in the center with Physics teacher Theresa Napolitano, surrounded by her "Phabulous Physics" students!
Kids II & Bright Starts Host Pink Power Mom Weekend in Atlanta

Dec2011-MB&CheckKids II & Bright Starts, an Atlanta-based baby-gear company, has honored 8 women each year for the past 5 years as part of their "Pink Power Mom Program."

These women have "persevered through their battles with breast cancer and are inspirations to their family, friends and other fighters and survivors.  They live to make a difference."

Last month they brought all 40 Pink Power Moms - along with a guest - together for a fabulous weekend in Atlanta, culminating in a private event at the High Museum of Modern Art, where the museum dripped in all things "pink and powerful!"  My daughter Betsy, (pictured at right) who nominated me for this award, joined me for the weekend.

I was thrilled to have represented Kids II & Bright Starts this year as the 2011 Pink Power Super Mom, which meant a donation of $20,000 to Get In Touch.  That's a lot of Daisy Wheels!

NASN 2012 banner
I'm excited to have been invited back to speak at the National Association of School Nurses Conference, whose 44th Annual Conference will be held in San Francisco next June.  My topic is "Get In Touch With Breast Health - For Life!"  We LOVE school nurses and are grateful to them for making our mission a movement!

8 Milestones for GIT in 2011...

As I reflect on all of the gifts of this most magnificent year, I thought I'd highlight some of the milestones that continue to motivate and excite all of us at GIT...

1.  Daisy Wheels in the hands of girls in 47 states & 20 countries!

2.  Daisy Wheel app downloaded in 51 countries since June!

3.  "Pretty In Pink" events held in CT, MA and PA!

4.  The "Laces For Lana" Campaign skyrockets!

5.  I spoke at conferences in Malaysia, Tunisia & Washington, DC!

6.  I was Kids II & Bright Starts 2011 Pink Power Super Mom!

7.  We hired an Operations Coordinator!

Drumroll please.....

8.  After countless requests from school nurses all over the globe, we are in the early development stages of a Boys' Program for testicular exam.  Stay tuned!

Have You Downloaded Our App Yet?

We are over the moon about the Daisy Wheel© App!  If you're an iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone user, go to the iTunes App Store and download it for free.  If you love it as much as we do, we'd be grateful if you'd help us spread the word by telling your friends and writing a review, too.  It's been downloaded in 51 countries, so far, making our mission to "change the world one girl at a time" a global reality!
