Hello ,
We always move in the direction of "hope" here
at Get In Touch. It is the very essence of who we are, the founding principle that led to the creation of our global educational breast health initiative that empowers girls to "get in touch" with their bodies. As we approach the second anniversary of the formal launch of the Get In Touch Girls' Program & Daisy Wheels, I can't help but think of the 100,000+ girls who have already received Daisy Wheels, and the "hope" I have for them...and how grateful I am to YOU for joining us on our mission, our "journey of hope!" Hope Lives!

Spotlight on Schools - We LOVE School Nurses!
Welcome to the many new subscribers, all NASN conference attendees, to this month's newsletter! Mary Ann was thrilled to be a speaker at the National Association of School Nurses conference in Washington, D.C., and Get In Touch is looking forward to welcoming you into the GIT family as you enroll your schools in the Girls' Program. Thanks for helping us make our mission a movement!
|
And the latest country to join us is...
NIGERIA! We're thrilled to know that breast health education is going deeper into Africa with the assistance of Adesola Ogunfowokan, an instructor at Obafemi Awolowo University's nursing program. By distributing Daisy Wheels to the nursing students, the message for breast health education will spread into villages and cities, sharing vital information with girls across the country. Great job, Adesola!

Some Serious Horsin' Around for GIT
On July 23, the Dream Arena in Gloucester, NJ was filled with horses and riders, all there for the UPHA Children's Benefit Horse Show Pink Ribbon Night. As part of its Pink Ribbon Program, the United Professional Horsemen's Association spotlights various organizations that promote breast health and breast cancer prevention.
We were honored to not only benefit from some of the proceeds of the show, but also to receive a special donation of $10,000 because Chapter 15's Children's Benefit is one of the top five UPHA fundraisers in the country. Eileen Scully, Chair of GIT's Board of Directors, and Tracey Saab, GIT's National Events Coordinator, were thrilled to accept the donation check from these lovely girls!
