spread love
Hello ,

You can "spread love" this month by introducing someone you love to the importance of BSE / breast self-exam.

Since 1 in 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime*, it is important for women of all ages to "get in touch with their bodies, information, and each other in our crusade against breast cancer."

Our Daisy Wheel teaches girls in grades 5-12 the importance of, and how to do a BSE - for life.  After all, they will become women one day, and that 1 in 8 statistic is something we can't ignore.

Spread love by spreading the news...BSE for life!

Hope Lives!

News from Washington

I'm privileged to have spent January 26 on Capitol Hill with
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (above) and Senator Amy Klobuchar, along with an advisory committee of representatives from all over the nation, brainstorming messaging and implementation of the Breast Cancer EARLY Act (Education & Awareness Requires Learning Young)...amazing women doing amazing things. Godspeed, too, to my friend and Tigerlily Founder Maimah Karmo, Advisory Committee Member heading to Atlanta for meetings with the CDC
this week...HOPE LIVES!!

Bright Starts Logo A HUGE THANK YOU to Bright Starts!

The 2010 Bright Starts Pink Power Moms, including yours truly, met in Atlanta last week for a photo shoot and a grand tour of the Kids II, Bright Starts facility.  I'm also thrilled to have been selected as the 2011 Pink Power Super Mom!  That means an additional prize of $20,000 for GIT, to be presented later this year at the 5th Anniversary Pink Power Moms celebration!

Kids II team

Besides the fact that they're just plain adorable, another great reason to buy items from the Bright Starts Pretty in Pink Collection™ of baby gear and toys is that Bright Starts has donated $5,000 to each of the 8 Pink Power Moms (plus the Pink Power Super Mom award mentioned above), and continues to make supporting breast health initiatives a top priority through the sale of these items.  I hope you'll help give today's baby girls a brighter tomorrow!
And more THANK YOUs to Laces for Lana
Laces for Lana LogoTheir Facebook page says it best:  "Life is hectic, but sometimes things happen that call us to pause and consider what is really important. On the Yale Women's Crew team we have had recent occasion to reflect on our routine. The mother of two of our teammates, Taylor '10 and McLane '14 passed away from breast cancer just a few short weeks ago. These two girls are some of the most amazing, hard-working and big-hearted people out there, and it prompted our team to start a fundraiser in their honor. We are calling it "Laces for Life." We sell hot pink shoelaces for $5 a pair to raise money for breast health awareness and education. The funds raised will be donated to the Get In Touch® Foundation to support their crusade against breast cancer."  THANK YOU, Laces for Lana, for your generous support of our work.  To order the laces, email LFL by clicking here.

Secret Society of Women logo

I'm excited to be a guest blogger for the Secret Society of Women.  It's a great site where women can connect with others to discuss their aspirations, their fears, their secrets, and more.  I hope you'll join in the conversation!   Click here to read my first post.

Lehigh Valley News

Thanks so much to ET&T, a Lehigh Valley, PA communications company, for inviting GIT Event Coordinator, Tracey Snyder Saab, and her Pretty in Pink Brunch planners to attend their Customer Appreciation Night. Tracey and her team sold 153 GIT daisy ribbons at $1 apiece, and ET&T graciously matched that amount, resulting in $306 for GIT.  That's 306 Daisy Wheels, for 306 girls!
