KUDOS to Marshfield High School in Marshfield MA!
Here is the e-mail we received from Emily, along with the photo above:"My name is Emily Burke and I am a sophomore at
Marshfield High School in Marshfield, MA. The girls of our school chose The Get In Touch Foundation as our Key Club's single service project. Key Club is a
service program for high school students and teaches leadership to students
through community service projects. Each year there is a district convention
held within each district.
This year we brought "GIT Pink" as our Single Service
Project for the 2009-2010 convention. I created a tri-fold poster board including
pictures and descriptions, as well as bringing some Daisy Wheels along to help
display our message. We presented the board to a panel of judges as well as
other Key Clubs in the district at a Single Service Fair. The Single Service Fair is used to pass on fundraising ideas on to other clubs and we are
pleased to tell you that sooo many clubs that we spoke
to at the conference want to be involved in this charity!
In addition we would
like to announce that Marshfield High School Key Club was given 2nd Place in
the Platinum Division at the 2009-2010 Key Club Convention for their service
with breast cancer and The Get In Touch Foundation. We are so excited to
continue this event and when I graduate I hope to pass this on to the students
below me because it has made such a positive impact on our school and it has
been such a wonderful experience for me and for the rest of the girls in Key
Club. Thank you for establishing such an amazing organization! It is really making a big impact on my school and Key Club - thanks again!"
KUDOS to The Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT...
...for introducing the Get In Touch Girls' Program & Daisy Wheels as an educational initiative for their patients with breast cancer! Using the Daisy Wheel, women with breast cancer will be able to teach their daughters the valuable lesson of breast health education and awareness while introducing them to an empowering story of hope, survival, and life!
KUDOS to Milford Rotary......and Tracey O'Brien for inviting me to speak to their members recently about Get In Touch! I answered thoughtful questions and invited everyone to join us in October to "GIT Their Pink On!"
