GIT Press Release: Recent USPSTF Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations
"The mission of The Get In Touch Foundation is clear - to encourage gals of all ages to "get in touch" with their bodies, information and each other in our crusade against breast cancer.
BSE, mammography, ultrasound and MRI are all tools that provide a woman with information that could potentially save her life. One woman's breast cancer diagnosis means countless lives are affected. We all benefit when women are healthy and informed.
While frustrated with the breast cancer screening recommendations in the recently released USPSTF report, I am ever the optimist, believing the conversation and the passion it has ignited is a silver lining that will educate more women - and men! - than any conventional educational and awareness campaign!"

Lauralton Hall AP Physics Class "Launch Pumpkins" for Breast Cancer
Lauralton Hall, the all-girls high school located right here in GIT's hometown of Milford, CT, held a most-unusual fundraiser for GIT last month! Lauralton's Advanced Placement physics class, under the direction of Science Department Chair Theresa Napolitano, used pumpkin catapults designed and built by the students to help raise funds for Get In Touch.
The catapult launch raised $2,200 for The Get In Touch Foundation in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Theresa Napolitano stated that "breast cancer has touched the lives of many members of the community through family and friends and this is a small activity in which we can participate to do our part to help. This contest not only taught the students a great deal about physics, but also helped raise much needed funds for a most worthy cause."
Look out world! Here comes a generation of smart, healthy girls... "changing the world one girl at a time!"
Thank you, Lauralton Hall - Hope Lives!!

1. At least you already have a husband. 2. At least your husband loves you. 3. At least you only have to have a lumpectomy. 4. At least you don't have to have chemotherapy. 5. At least it's not in your lymph nodes. 6. At least it's only Stage 1. 7. At least it's only Stage 2. 8. At least it's only breast cancer - it could be worse.
