Happy New Year!  We had a blast caring for our boarding guests during the holidays and we're looking forward to a fun and eventful 2012!  Here's what's going on at DOGUROO...

In this issue of The GUROO News: new stylish, practical collars from If It Barks, an update on The Whole Dog Market - Monroe, a new Jabula training class at DOGUROO, we give thanks for our customer pack, and of course, January's Pack Member of the Month.  Enjoy!
 

Several styles and widths of martingale collars from If It Barks are in stock now!  Choose a pattern that suits your (or your dog's) taste and we'll help you find the right size!  Martingale collars are even recommended by our Training partners at Jabula!  What's a martingale collar?  We're glad you asked:

A martingale collar is made with two loops. The large loop goes around your dogs neck and is adjusted to fit loosely. The leash is then clipped to a D-ring on the smaller loop. When your dog tries to pull their head out of the collar, the tension on the leash pulls the small loop taut, which makes the large loop smaller and tighter on the neck (preventing escape). When adjusted properly your dog is never choked, but the collar stays snug around their neck (just behind the ears) until the pressure is released.
 

The awning is up, the self-wash tub is in place, and the check-out desk is almost complete!  We're getting close to opening our first stand-alone The Whole Dog Market location on Monroe Drive!  The Whole Dog Market is the retail ingredient to the DOGUROO Whole Dog Experience.  That means you'll experience a similar selection and the same great service on Monroe Drive that you're used to at our Northside Drive location!  You can even use your Healthy Buyer Card at both stores!

We've launched a new Facebook Page to celebrate our first stand-alone The Whole Dog Market location!  Please like our new page and tune in for updates including progress during the build-out, the official open date, and promotions!

Look for our new location soon at 10th & Monroe, across from Grady Stadium, between Yoforia & Arden's Garden.

 

Do you have an unruly hound?  Jabula is offering a new 6-week Stage-1 Basic Obedience class at DOGUROO beginning Wednesday, January 18th!

This course is designed to teach the basics of obedience and manners for dogs six months or older.  Jabula's trainers will cover sit, down, stay, loose-leash walking, come, no jumping, leave it, and teaching your dog to wait for their release.  You'll start by learning the basics, and then proof the behavior with distractions.
