| Reinvention is the mantra of our demographic. It seems that mid-life has made us more interested in creating a higher level of satisfaction in our lives.
Starting in a new direction requires evaluating where we are now and where we want to be in the next few weeks, months, and years.
We're putting together the Flashionista 2011 Reinvention Plan. We'll give it to you a little at a time starting with the 2 most important tools.
- Learn how to change the channel. Turn off negative thinking. This is the toughest challenge of all. The biggest measure of success is how strongly we believe in our own capabilities. The mind is a powerful engine of change. If it's exposed to a constant loop of negative thinking and self-doubt that's what it starts to believe.
- Have a personal commercial ready to play. The antidote to the negative loop is a positive one. Anthony Robbins built an empire on NPL (neuro-linguistic programming), but it was just a new term for an old idea that worked; changing how we think can change our lives. Learning how to re-program self-doubt into positive forward personal momentum is the key to a successful reinvention.
Self-talk is powerful when it's believable.
