Needs a Cat Suit

Every women who gives a darn needs to be able to pull a "cat suit" out of her closet at a moment's notice.
This is a head to toe look, usually in a dark or neutral color that becomes the base on which you build your party look.
The elements of a cat suit typically include basic items like updated jeans in a dark rinse, a pair of dark pants or even a dark skirt with matching tights (black is a no-brainer). On top, go for a simple pullover, with or without sleeves, in a fabric like stretch lace, cashmere, or a silk blend. It should have an uncomplicated jewel or ballet neckline.

A cardigan sweater with some sparkle or a velvet jacket. Either of these will instantly transform your cat suit into a party look. You'll really be glammed-to-go when you add some party shoes and jewels (see below).A crisp white shirt can substitute for the top.
A dressy wrap. This item functions like the jacket or cardigan to finish off a look. Your wrap can also be layered over the jacket or cardigan for more depth and drama.

Some glitzy jewelry. We're talking bold here. Costume jewelry is ideal. Pin a big brooch or layer ropes of pearls on a plain jewel neckline.

| A pair of party shoes. Every woman needs a pair of shoes that sparkle. The criterion is that every time you put those shoes on you should feel like kicking up your heels. Don't underestimate the power of a great pair of shoes to boost your confidence.
An evening clutch. STOP. You DO NOT need to haul that 20 pound tote you call your pocketbook to the party. It'll ruin your look, and your posture, plus lugging that extra weight around inhibits your ability to move, mingle, and stay light on your feet, maybe even dance.

The LBD doesn't have to be black, but it must be a style and color that works for you and your body type. The right one can function like a cat suit as long as the styling is simple.
It pays to have at least one that makes you look and feel smashing.
